crockery, painters' and glaciers' supplies, etc. The business was commenced 
in Brooklyn in 1875, and the East New York establishment was opened in 1880. 
The store is fitted up in the most thorough manner for the display and 
inspection of goods. A heavy stock is carried, embracing paints, oils, 
varnishes, brushes, window glass, crockery, housefurnishing goods, builders' 
hardware, etc., and orders both at wholesale and retail are promptly and 
satisfactorily filled. 

The stock is well arranged, and always includes the best quality and classes 
of productions, which are offered to customers at the lowest prices the market 
affords. 

The trade lies mainly in the city, and the enterprising and responsible character 
of Mr. Edward E. Stewart, the proprietor, is drawing to the counters of the 
establishment a very valuable line of custom. 

A native of New York State, Mr. Stewart is thoroughly identified and in sympathy 
with the progress of this city.
