property upon which Pierrepont and adjacent streets now stand, 
which he tilled as a farm, and subsequently sold for a considerable sum.

to be, a highly prosperous business from his own resources. He is now but 
twenty-four years of age; and if the future should prove as  brilliant  
as the past and present he will undoubtedly rank with the wealthiest of our 
city-having made the above sum by his own individual exertions in business.
