New for the 1870's: Corona: 6/19/1872 to 9/30/1904; then under Flushing Creedmore: 11/20/1878 to 8/15/1910; closed, mail from Jamaica Glendale Station: 10/19/1874 to 9/30/1904; then under Flushing Richmond Hill ... name change from Clarenceville 7/2/1872; 5/31/1899 under Jamaica Winfield Junction: 3/26/1872 to 9/30/1904; then under Flushing List for 1869: Town of Newtown: Astoria, Maspeth, Newtown, Ravenswood, Woodside Town of Flushing: Bay Side, College Point, Flushing, Little Neck, Whitestone Town of Jamaica: Clarenceville, Jamaica, Queens, Springfield Store, Woodhaven Correct List for 1869: Town of Newtown: Astoria, Long Island City, Maspeth, Newtown, Ravenswood, Woodside Town of Flushing: Bay Side, College Point, Flushing, Little Neck, Whitestone Town of Jamaica: Clarenceville, Jamaica, Queens, Springfield Store, Woodhaven List for 1879: City of Long Island City: Astoria, Long Island City Town of Newtown: Corona, Glendale Station, Maspeth, Newtown, Winfield Junction, Woodside Town of Flushing: Bay Side, College Point, Flushing, Little Neck, Whitestone Town of Jamaica: Creedmore, Jamaica, Queens, Richmond Hill, Springfield Store, Woodhaven This list DOES NOT include any postoffices in present-day Queens County located on the Rockaway Peninsula. That area was within the Town of Hempstead until 1898. See the Nassau County lists, under Hempstead for those postoffices on part of the Rockaway Peninsula annexed to New York City in 1898. A large part of the historic Rockaway area remained with the Town of Hempstead & is now in Nassau County.
