VOLUNTEER FIRE FIGHTERS ELECT 1929 OFFICERS
Brooklyn Standard Union 13 June 1929 News (Firefighters) Southern New York Association Convened at Lindenhurst Lindenhurst, L.I., June 13. Officers for the coming year were elected at yesterday’s session of the thirty-fourth annual convention of the Southern New York State Volunteer Firemen’s Association at the Lindenhurst firehouse. Edward J. DONLON, of Lynbrook, was elected president; Henry K. NOLTY of Westchester, first vice-president; John McCONNELL, Queens, second vice-president August KALB of Rockville Centre Philip PETERS of Elmhurst were re-elected secretary and treasurer, respectively. The following were elected to the board of directors: George M. COLLIER, William HALDIN, Martin BETJEN, Eugene OSBOURNE, George WACKENHUT, Charles KLEIN, William CURTIX, Fred M. WILLIAMS, John H. CONK, Archibald BROOKS, Lemuel R. BUCK, Henry HOLDER, John BECHGOLD, John YOUNG, Maurice J. McCARTHY, Walter GEDNEY Ira HARTWICK. An invitation by the fire department of Long Beach to hold next year’s convention there was accepted by the association. The convention will close today with a parade and other festivities.
