Brooklyn Standard Union 4 November 1876 Graduating Exercises The Retiring Pupils of Public School No. 25 Receive their Well Earned Rewards. A reception was given yesterday afternoon at Public School No. 25, in Walworth street, near Myrtle, by the members of the graduating class of 1876. It drew out a large audience, most of whom were ladies. The names of the graduating class of this school for the present year are : Willard N. BANKS Ella H. DUANE Emily M. STEANE (or STEAPE) Anna H. HARRIS Eva R. BENJAMIN Addie J. BOGER Julia E. DRENNAN Tillie T. CRANE. Among the Board of Education present on this occasion were Messrs. MARCELLUS, GATES, SPRAGUE, BELL and SHARMANN. Mr. MARCELLUS as chairman of the Local Committee of the school, presided over the reception and made the announcement of the facts. To Miss Eva R. BENJAMIN was awarded the honor of delivering the salutatory, To Miss Ella H. DUANE the honor of the valedictory. The other members of the graduating class appeared in readings and compositions. The Messrs. BOGER and DRENNAN rendered a piano duet and also a vocal duet. All the parts were admirable sustained. Miss BENJAMIN'S essay on newspapers was an excellent paper, well read, and the salutatory and valedictory were admirably adapted to the occasion.
