Troy avenue, near Schenectady 22 December 1877 Brooklyn Union-Argus The closing exercises of Colored Public School No. 2 of which Messrs. Thomas PROSSER, Oscar FRISBIE, and John FLYNN are the Local Committee, were held in the schoolhouse on Troy avenue, near Schenectady, and were very interesting. Mr. J.Q. ALLEN, the Principal, conducted the exercises and a choice programme was rendered by the following named pupils, assisted by their schoolmates: Mary BUTLER, Henrietta WILSCH, Lizzie BUNDICK, Norman D. JOHNSON, Louis PUTNAM, Frederick PUTNAM, Joseph LEWIS, Joseph THOMPSON, Octavia GRAY, Henry VANCE, Walter MITCHELL, Charles BAKER, Mary FRANCIS. There was a large number of interested spectators present, who testified to their appreciation of the proficiency of the pupils by frequent applause.
