PROF. HART'S CLOSING EXERCISES
         The pupils of the College Grammar School, Professor L.W. Hart, 
Principal, gave an entertainment last evening  in the L?w Building as a 
wind-up to the school year. A number of the parents and friends of the 
scholars were present, and the exercises were highly appreciated. The 
following recitations were given;

"Battle of the Rats and Mice," by HERBERT R. BREWSTER
"La mouche et la Fourm," by HERMAN LUDWIG
"The Smack in School," by FRANK D. DODGE
"Claims of Suit'em Hotel," by ALBERT W. CHRISTOPHER
'The American Boy," by C.A.JAMES
"The Sword of Bunker Hill,' by WM. P. HUNTER
"The Battle of Lexington," by FRED W. LYON
"Washington's Address bef. the Battle of Long Island," by PHILIP STANTON
"Barbara Frietchie," by R. IRVING LEECH
"The Dappled Mare," by HARRY REEVE
"Counsels to the Young," by CHAS. D. REEVE.

        At this point the Professor HART gave a review of the school work in 
the past year. He spoke of the development of scolarship; the good habits 
that had been formed; the right purposes that had been inspired, and 
concluded by appealing to the scholars estimate of manhood with special 
references to the future of those who leave the school to pass into business.
        
After this the farce of "Box and Cox" was well acted. The cast was:

Mrs. Bouncer, CHARLES TABER.
         
Salutations appropriate to the closing of the school year followed. 
The school will reopen the second week in September.
