Graduation Exercises at Rev. Dr. RUDINGTON's Church
Rev. Dr. DURYEA takes part.

The graduation exercises of the Clinton Avenue Institute were held last
evening in the Clinton Avenue Congregational Church which was specially
arranged for the occasion.

The salutatory was delivered by Miss Maude LOVETT, and was loudly applauded.

Miss M. Rita HARDIE followed with an essay entitled,
"Dramatis Personae from a Private Box."

Miss Hattie P. WOODRUFF read an essay entitled, "Books in the Running Brooks."
Miss Emma H. HOLCOMB read, "Do as the Rest Do,"
Miss Nellie H. FOOTE, "A Temple and a Song,"

Miss Florence WALKER closed the exercises with the valedictory,
which took up Tennyson's grand idea that "thought he ages one increasing
purpose runs."

The young ladies above mentioned constituted the graduating class, to
whom the award of diplomas was made by Rev. Dr. J.T. DURYEA, in a few
appropriate remarks.
At the finish the cantata, "The Flower Queen," by Root, was rendered,
Prof. D.P. HORTON conducted the music; and subsequently a reception was
given in the parlors of the institute, at 392 Clinton Avenue,
by the senior class. The eleventh school year will begin next Wednesday,
17th inst., under the charge of Mrs. E.H. ATKINS, the Principal.
