The exercises in the primary department commenced at 9:30, and consisted of recitations:

Minnie KELLY, 
Edward CANTWELL, 
Mary WILLE, 
Mary DOLRAN and eight other girls; 
calisthenics; duet by Gussie WEST and Hugo FOX; 
song by eleven girls, dialogue by seven girls and six boys, and songs by the 
school.  There one thousand pupils in the primary department.  About one 
hundred semi-annual certificates were distributed.

In the Grammar Department the exercises opened at 10:30.  The number of 
scholars in this department is about 800.

Earnest WHITE read a composition called "Street Cries." 
Mary MC GEE gave a solo.

Master MARTIN showed that "When the cat's away, the mice will play," 

Alfred DOWIE declaimed.  
Jennie JACKSON and Thomas REIL gave a dialogue. 
 
Master MC COY, 
Master RYAN, 
Master MAIR, 
Master SCAFF, 
Master MILLER and others joined in a sketch called "The Yankee Scootleteer." 

Katie HOFFMAN read a composition, 
"An Imaginary Trip to Jupiter," and the school and class of girls sang.

The following graduates were given diplomas: 
Kate HARDY, 
Lucy DAWIE, 
Mary BELL, 
Mary MC GEE, 
Islay MARTIN, 
Thomas BURKE, 
John REARDON
Thomas HAINES. Their average age is sixteen.  

Kate HARDY, 
Mary BELL, 
Islay MARTIN 
and John REARDON commenced in the sixth primary class of this school.  
The diploma entitles them to admission to the High School.  About fifty 
certificates were also awarded.  Miss GARDINER, teacher o the first grammar 
grade, presented each of the graduates with a picture with appropriate verses.

The Local committee of the School are

M. A. WEED is Principal and 
A. F. CUTTER Principal of Primary Department.
There was a very large attendance of parents and friends of the scholars 
present to listen to the exercises.
