The pupils of the grammar department of Public School No. 7, received their 
friends this morning and entertained them with interesting exercises.

Prof. Carl WAGNER was musical director.

The number of scholars in the grammar department is 347.  Of these 190 
received certificates, the recipients being those who had been present 
every day of their school term, and in their studies showed ninety per 
cent.  Mr. C. P. CUNNINGHAM, the Principal, was congratulated on the good 
showing made by the scholars.  The children were also highly complimented 
by the gentlemen of the Board of Education on their progress.

Some drawings on the blackboard by

Jennie BREISLAND, 
Annie FARRINGTON, and Bella MC MILLEN were unusually artistic.  

The teacher of drawing in the school is Miss Carrie CONKLIN, 
daughter of the principal of School No. 3.
