Closing Exercises at Prof. George N. BIGELOW’s School
Thoroughness of Instruction Illustrated

   The closing exercises of Prof. George BIGELOW’s Seminary took place this
morning at the rooms in the Athenæum, corner of Clinton street and Atlantic
avenue. Prof. BIGELOW’s school has been long and favorably known in this city
and the exercises today showed the thoroughness of the instruction imparted.

'The Battle of Bunker Hill' was read by :

Nellie CHADWICK, 
Clara KIMBALL,

Louise BABCOCK. 

The compositions were by :
Grace COLBY, 
Fannie RILEY and Louise BABCOCK. 

All of them showed much originality of thought and were decidedly above the 
average of school-girl essays.

   The school has been in operation fourteen years, and the efficiency of the
scholars may be found in the fact that Professor BIGELOW gives personal
attention to all. The classes are small and the work of each is essentially
that of an individual.
