The Central Grammar Graduating Exercises Last Night
A Large Attendance of Citizens Interested in Public Education
Compositions by the Graduates
Award of Mayor LOW’s Prizes and Presentation of Diplomas
Remarks by Rev. Dr. HALL.

   A very large audience was present last evening at the fourth graduating
exercises of the Central Grammar School, in the First Baptist Church, corner
of Pierrepont and Clinton streets.

   Mayor LOW’s prizes to the five graduates of the grammar schools receiving
the highest percentage were next presented by Superintendent PATTERSON. The
successful competitors were: 
Mary J. CRANDALL,  93.?? Per cent, No. 11; 
Laura SMITH, 92.20 per cent, No. 35; 
Mamie A. DOYLE, 91.79 per cent, No. 13; 
Annie E. SPEARS, 90.75 per cent, No. 16; 
Grace ALLEN, 90.30 per cent, No.9. 

The last-named young lady was not present as she was taking part at 
that hour in the closing exercises at her own school.
