Visitation Commencement
Academy of the Visitation graduation took place at the convent ­ Second
avenue and Eighty ninth street.  The commencement was the first to be held
in the present institution, which was formally opened last September, the
nuns having moved from their Clinton avenue home during the summer.

The programme presented was the following:

The Mitchell memorial medal for the best essay was won by Miss Mary CLEARY, 
her subject being "Ideals, True and False."

In connection with the commencement exercises there was a display of the
pupils' skill in needlework, drawing and painting, all the exhibits showing
marked talent and ability.
Classes at the academy will be resumed September 14.  In 1905 will occur the
fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Visitation Academy of Brooklyn
and preparations for a suitable recognition of the event are being made by
the alumnae association which was formed during the present month.
