NINE GRADUATE FROM ST. AMBROSE'S ACADEMY
Nine graduates of St. Ambrose's Academy of DeKalb and Tompkins avenue, received their diplomas last night at the Bijou Theatre, where the closing exercises of the school were held. The theatre was filled to its capacity with the parents and friends of the children. Several handsome floral pieces were sent the graduates. The programme opened with an overture by the orchestra after which the graduates and the children of the school were heard in several songs. After the singing the following received diplomas of graduation: Miss Irene B. COONEY, Miss Mildred M. McDERMOTT, Miss Christine A. HYNES, Miss Grace M. McGOWAN and Miss Mary L. SCHOPPS; James C. KENNEDY, Ambrose A. McCAFFERTY, Charles A. ZIMMER and Edward V. KENNEDY. The performance closed with the presentation of a minstrel show by the "Ebony Belles" made up of the young people of the parish. Miss Sally LUNN was the bones, Miss Mary LANDSAUSAGE the tambo and Miss Ida LAMB interlocutor. The affair was arranged by the sisters in charge of the academy.
