GIRLS OF ANNEX 42
A double assembly period was greatly enjoyed by the girls of Annex 42. Pupils from the physical culture training classes, which are under the direction of Miss HUNTINGTON, gave a series of folk dances in costume which were greatly admired. Selections by the Glee Club and by the Violin Club were followed by the announcement of those who had secured exceptionally high averages in music. Those who averaged 100 per cent were: Mabel MOODY, Helen HECK, Edith MILLER, M. TRACY, A HERMANN, A. MITCHELL, S. LEWIS, A. JACKSON, M. ORBECK, M. FLIEDIG, H.G. SNEDEKER, M. SCHILLING, M. MILLSPAUGH, V. TABER, a showing of which their teacher, Mrs. LISCOMB, should be justly proud. The greatest event, however, was a spelling match in which the 1A pupils challenged the 1B girls to a wordy combat. The ten contestants on each side dwindled, in the course of an hour, to three who bid fair to exhaust the attention of the audience, but were finally spelled down. The winner of the contest, Miss Daisy HOLST, of the 1A division, received the prize offered by the Loyal League, and the other members of the teams received a momento of the occasion from Miss BARKER.RETURN to 1910 GRADUATE MAIN RETURN to GRADUATE MAIN RETURN to BROOKLYN MAIN
