Sixty-eighth Annual Commencement Exercises Held in Loyola Hall

Director of Draft CONBOY Addresses Graduates
The sixty-eighth annual commencement of Brooklyn College, St. Francis Xavier,
was held last evening in Loyola Hall, Rogers avenue and Carroll street.
Martin CONBOY addressed the graduates. The degrees were conferred by Father
Joseph H. ROCKWELL, S.J., assisted by Father William F. CLARK.

The honorary degree of Doctor of Law was conferred upon Major Gen. James W.
McANDREWS, A.E.F, a former pupil of St. Francis Xavier, and now Chief of
Staff under Gen. PERSHING.
The opening address of the evening "Authority in the State" was made by
Benjamin CRAWFORD..............
Harry P. EPPIG delivered an oration upon "The March of
Democracy".............Martin CONBOY, director of the draft for the city of
New York, in his address to the graduates, paid high tribute to the faculty,
to the parents of the students and to the students themselves.
Joseph Anthony McGOLDRICK, received his degree in the uniform of an United
States Naval Seaman. During the evening's ceremonies the Loyola Orchestra,
under the direction of Father William McENTEE, S.J., gave a superb musical
programme.
