Girls' H. S. Graduates Promised 'University Soon'
"The sun will rise on the buildings and the campus of Brooklyn's own
university sooner than most people expect," declared Borough President Joseph
A. GUIDER last night in an address to more than 2,500 persons who attended
the graduation exercises of Girls' High School, in the auditorium of the
school, Nostrand avenue and Halsey street. President GUIDER made the
presentation of the diplomas to the 220 graduates.

William L. FELTER, principal of the school in a short address preceding the
Borough President, called upon the girls who contemplated going to college or
to Teacher's Training School to stand, and of the entire number of graduates
only twenty-five remained seated. This showing greatly impressed President
GUIDER who promised to continue his efforts to get Brooklyn a university that
will rank as high as any in the country.

Eleanor NOBLE was presented with the Doris BRANDAU Memorial pin for having
the highest average of the class. She also received medals for the best
record in French and Latin. The Valentine American history prize was awarded
to Bella SMITH. The "No. 15" award which is given by P. S. 15 for the
greatest improvement during the course was given to Rose NAPOLEON. The Maud
GARDINER Memorial Art Scholarship was awarded to Beatrice HATFIELD. Isabel
PAULSON was awarded the prize for the best homemade dress.
