Frances CHARLTON, of 34 Plaza street, captured most of the laurels at the
graduation exercises of Manual Training High School, held last night in the
school auditorium, She won five of the eleven awards.  
Miss CHARLTON won the medal for the best three-year average
in regents' Latin examination, and another for the best mark in French for
the graduating class.  In mathematics, which is an elective course for those
after the second year, the girl also captured the prize.  Miss CHARLTON took
a medal for the highest scholastic mark and received another reward for the
best English essay among the girls.  Her essay was "On the Battlefront."

Among the boys Samuel LEVINE won two awards, one for mathematics and the
other for his scholastic record.  The School Art League and Manual Training
High School scholarship to Pratt Institute was won by Anna THOMAS.  The
Anvil Club of Adelphi College medal for leadership went to Marion MEADER.
The gold medal for three years on Latin was awarded to Salvador CIANEULLI,
while Charles P. MACHTYLOWICZ won the award for the co-operative course.
