735 GRADUATE AT BROOKLYN COLLEGE TONIGHT
Many Prizes Will Be Given -- E. P. SEELMAN To Deliver Address
Brooklyn College will hold its sixth commencement tonight at the
Brooklyn Academy of Music at which time Dr. William A. BOYLAN, president,
will present degrees to 450 women and 285 men.
Today's graduates represent the second half of the 1935 class.
Because of its size, the largest in the school's five-year history, the first
half was graduated at special exercises held in February.
The total for 1935 is 1,197.
Ernest P. SEELMAN, member of the Board of Higher Education and of the
Brooklyn College Administrative Committee, will deliver the commencement
address. Dr. Arthur M. HOWE, chairman of the Brooklyn College Administrative
Committee, will preside. The invocation will be delivered by Rabbi Isaac
LANDMAN of the Eighth Avenue Temple.

Annual income of a fund of $3,000 divided among three members of the
graduating class who have shown the greatest proficiency in their several
field and who will pursue graduate study:

Prize of $50 awarded by the Panhellenic Association of Brooklyn
College to that member of the graduating class of the Women's Division of
Brooklyn College who has rendered the greatest service to the college and
whose scholarship is outstanding. -- Jean R. CASSEL.
STUDENT COUNCIL SENIOR AWARD
A gold medal awarded by the Student Council to that member of the
graduating class of the Men's Division who is outstanding on the basis of
character, scholarship and extracurricular service. -- Arthur LERNER.
UNION LEAGUE CLUB PRIZE
The income of a fund of $300 donated by the Union League Club of
Brooklyn awarded for the best work in advanced elective courses in the

ADAM SMITH MEDAL
Gold medal awarded by a group of Brooklyn business men to the senior

MARY ROEBUCK MULOT MEMORIAL MEDAL
A silver medal awarded annually at the June commencement to that

Two gold medals and four silver medals awarded by the Mathematics
Department to those students in the department who receive the highest
ratings in a competitive examination in elective courses.

A prize of $10 awarded each June to that graduating senior of the June
or preceding January class who has specialized in German, and done
