TEACHERS DINE MRS. LEWIS; NEWS OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS

A complimentary dinner was given last night at the Pouch Mansion to 
Mrs. Lucy LEWIS, a retired teacher of the Girls' High School.  The 
dinner was given by the women teachers of the school.  Dr. William L. 
FELTER acted as toastmaster. The addresses of the evening were of a 
purely forman character, strictly impromptu, and of the usual character 
on such gatherings.

Next Saturday the Brooklyn Principals' Association will give a 
testimonial dinner at the Lincoln Club to the retiring principals of 
local schools.  The principals to be honored are:
Dr. John MICKLEBOROUGH, of the Boys' High School
Almon G. MERWIN, of P.S. 74
James CRUIKSHANK, formerly of P.S. 12, who retired last year
Elmer POULSON, of P.S. 27
Leroy F. LEWIS, of P.S. 11
Frank GREENE, of P.S. 41.  The speakers at the dinner will be the Rev. 
Dr. S. PARKES CADMAN and Superintendent MAXWELL.  

It is also expected that speeches will be made by President WINTHROP 
of the Board of Education.  Controller METZ and 
Borough President J.E. SWANSTROM.  
The annual meeting of the association will be held at the same time.
