MEDAL WINNERS
And Marksmen of the Thirteen Regiment

The annual presentation-it will take place on Friday
evening, Feb. 3, and Gen. James
M’LEER will review the regiment on that occasion-who
the lucky ones are, and what they will get.

An annual event to which the members of the Thirteenth
Regiment look forward with a Great deal of interest every year is the presentation
of medals and badges for marksmanship. The presentation takes place
this year on Friday evening, Feb. 3, and on this occasion, also,
Gen. James MCLEER, commander of the Second Brigade, will review the regiment.
It is probable that Gen. MCLEER will be accompanied by most, if not all,
of his staff officers.
The medals and badges will be presented after the review and a band concert
and dancing will occupy the remainder of the evening.

There are five medals to be presented, the handsomest of which will be the
'Inspector’s Diamond' badge of marksmanship, which goes to
George G. COCHRAN, the recently Elected major of the regiment, who won
it with a total score of 40.

The 'Morle' medal :
For beginners as sharpshooters will be given to
Private L. S. BARRETT, of Company I,
Who made a score of 45.
The 'Veteran' medal :
for the highest aggregate score goes to
Sergeant S.F. FAHNSTOCK, of Company I, whose score was
110.
The 'Dolan' medal :
Will be given to Private H.J. STEELE, of Company K,
who won it with a score of 38.
The 'Alder' medal :
to Private W.T. CRANE, of Company A, whose score as a beginner was 22.

The marksmen will receive badges with from one to
seventeen bars, according to the number
of years each has served in the regiment and qualified
as marksman.
Color-Sergeant T.M. HARVEY, is the only one who will receive a seventeen bar badge.
Ordance-Sergeant James MCNEVIN, and Lieut. J.R.K. BARLOW, will be presented with
sixteen-bar medals.
There will be no fifteen or thirteen-bar medals this year, but from twelve bars down
there is no break in the line.
A complete list of those who will receive badges
follow:
First is given each soldier’s rank,
If above a private; then his name,
