Ridgewood Remembrance Monument
The following is an actual transcription of the
names on the monument as they were copied by the members of the Queens
Genealogy Workshop as a service project.  This list was published in a
recent issue of the QGW Newsletter.

RIDGEWOOD REMEMBRANCE (MEMORIAL PARK)
Located on Myrtle and Cypress Avenues at Putnam Street
Circular Inscription Around Base:  MEN OF RIDGEWOOD, "AND THEY EARNED
ETERNITY IN A BRIEF SPACE OF TIME"
Bronze Panel with Sailor and "Lady Neptune": "For Freedom of the Seas
and in Defence of our Rights they Serve Us Well"
Bronze Panel with Aviator and "Lady Liberty" with laurel wreath: "They
upheld America's cause and the hallowed memory abides with us"
Bronze Panel with Infantry Soldier and "Lady Freedom" with torch: "I
am summoned by my country whose voice I can never hear but with
veneration and love"
