R. C. Church, Pacific street and Vanderbilt avenue, for Private Edwin F.
O'CONNOR of Company C, Sixth Machine Gun Battalion, U.S. Marine
Corps, who was reported killed in action Nov. 5.  He was born in Brooklyn
twenty-eight years ago, and had been educated at the Visitation Parochial
School.  He had been employed by the Robins Dry Dock and Repair 
Company before enlisting in the Marines the day after ward was declared.
He sailed Dec. 7, 1917 for France and is survived by three sisters, Mrs.
A. J. McGARVEY, Mrs. H. SCHARRON and Marie O'CONNOR, and two
brothers, Stephen, in France with the Fifteenth U.S. Engineers, and
Anthony.  He lived at 11a Lefferts place.

Private Arend Oelkers was born in Germany and came to this country sixteen
years ago. When called into the service he was twenty nine years old.  He
lived with his brother, Frederick, with whom he was in the grocery business
at 340 Quincy street.  He was a member of the 307th Infantry, Company D.
The War Department notified his brother he had died of wounds on Sept. 16.

Private Alfred H. OHLSON, 22 years old, reported killed in 
action on the 4th or 5th of September, was attached to the 
Sanitary Detachment of the 307th Infantry.  OHLSON was drafted 
Sept. 10, 1917, and sailed for France April 6,1918.  He lived 
with his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Alfred OHLSON, at 680 Bergen street.  
He is survived by a brother, Kenneth, and a sister, Irene.  
OHLSON was a member of the Swedish Methodist Church on Dean street, 
and  before being drafted was a compositor for the 
Williams Company of Manhattan.

Private William OPPEL was 23 years old, the son of Mrs. Catherine
OPPEL, of 318 Tompkins avenue.  He went overseas with Company C,
305th Infantry.  According to letters received from him he "went over the
top" on six occasions.  The sixth time he sustained injuries which
eventually caused his death, Oct. 31.  His brother, Albert, is in France
with a regiment of American casuals.  William was born in Brooklyn and
attended the public schools, graduating from P.S. 44 and Boys' High
School.  He attended St. Ambrose's R. C. Church, DeKalb and Tompkins avenues.

Private Ferdinand W. Ott, killed in
action  on Sept 2, enlisted in the 23rd Regiment in July 1917, and was later
transferred to Company B 106th Infantry. Previous to that time he had served
three yrs and seven months in the Navy, being honorably discharged. He was
21 yrs old and graduated from PS 85. A brother Charles, is also in the
service.  Mrs Ott is prostrated at her home over the death of her son and
the fact that she has received no letter from her other son since he went
overseas.  The family lives at 1050 Decatur st. Private Ott's name has not
appeared as yet on the official casually list.

"Yes, we had hoped he would be home to have his Christmas dinner with
us," said Mrs. Louise OTTO, at her home, 1169 Fulton street, when talking
of the death of her son, Private Frank OTTO, last night.  "In the last letter
we received from him, dated Sept. 24, he said he had participated in some
bloody battles with the Huns, had seen comrades fall all around him, but
would come out each time with his lief and had much to tell us when he
got home, which he could not relate in his letters."
Private OTTO, 22 years old, was a member of Company E, 305th Infantry.
He was killed in action Sept. 28.  He is survived by his parents, Louise and
August OTTO; two brothers, Fred and Rudolph, and a sister, Frieda.
Memorial services are to be held in the Church of the Redeemer, Eastern
Parkway to-night for the young man.

Omundsen, Abraham L.,

Private Abraham Lincoln Ommundsen was born in Brooklyn nineteen years ago
and was a graduate of Public School 27.  He enlisted in April, 1917, in the
Fifty first Company, Fifth Regiment, United States Marine Corps and went
overseas with that organization two months later.
He was engaged in the battle of Belleau Wood, during which he was fatally
wounded.  His mother received a telegram from Washington, June 29 stating
that her son had been wounded on June 6 and had died as a result of his
wounds that same day.
His home is at 324 Sackett street, where he resided with his mother, Minnie;
his father Anders; four brothers, Anders, Jr., Walter, Ommun and Eugene, and
one sister, Minnie.

Only Nineteen years of age, Private John J. O'BRIEN has given his life for
his country.  His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick J. O'BRIEN, of 257 Twelfth
street, have been notified that he died from wounds received in action, Oct.
15.  He enlisted in the Fourteenth Regiment when seventeen years old,
and saw service on the border.  When the United States entered the war,
he was mustered into the regular service and became a member of Company
A, 165 Infantry.  Two brothers are in France.  They are Hugh, with the 401st
Telephone Battalion, and James, who is with the Second Pioneers.  Another
brother, Michael, is a newspaper reporter.

Albert S. OCHS, U. S. A., who died on Thursday in the Walter Reed Hospital,
Washington, D.C., of pneumonia, was born in Manhattan twenty-six years ago
and had been a resident of Brooklyn for twenty years.  He entered the U. S.
Army May 29 last and was sent to Camp Upton and from there to Fortress
Monroe, Va.  Then he was transferred to the Medical Corps and sent to
Washington, D. C., where he was to have been entered in the Medical Officers
Training School, which is open in November.  Before entering the army he was
in the printing business with his father, Albert A. OCHS, at 317 East
Twenty-third street.  He was a member of Anglo Saxon Lodge, F. and A. M.;
president of the Men's Bible Class of the Westminster U. P. Church, and was
a member of the Twenty-sixth Ward Y. M C. A.  He is survived by his parents,
Albert A. and Elizabeth A.; a sister, Bessie I., and three brothers, Robert
O., of Greensboro, N. C.; Edwin L. and Charles LeRoy.  Funeral services
will be held tomorrow evening at his late home, 492 Marion street, with
interment at Evergreen Cemetery on Monday at 10 a.m.
