Sergt. James P. J. QUIGG, killed in action Aug. 27, was first 
reported missing in action on that date.  He was the son of 
Charles and Marjory QUIGG of 582 Park place; born in Brooklyn 
twenty-three years ago, and graduated from St. Teresa's Academy 
and Commercial High School.  He was employed by J. H. Dunham & Co., 
wholesale dry goods merchants of Manhattan, when drafted in 
September 1917.  His last letter, dated Aug. 24, said he was 
in perfect health and that he expected soon to be in action.
A memorial mass of requiem for the repose of his soul will be celebrated
to-morrow at 9 A.M. in St. Teresa's Church, of which he was a member, as
well as of the Holy Name Society of the church.
