Riehl, William A.
Briggs avenue, Morris Park
The parents of Corporal William Andrew RIEHL, of Briggs avenue, Morris
Park, are hoping that an error has been made by the War Department in
reporting their son killed in action Oct. 27. The telegram referring to the
death of Corporal RIEHL was sent in care of "the McDANIEL Family" in
Morris Park and delivered to William RIEHL, father of the soldier.
The father says he received a letter from the boy, dated Oct. 25, but
nothing was said in the letter to indicate that he had been promoted to
corporal. He believes that had the boy won such a promotion, he would
have referred to it in the letter. He has asked the War Department to make
further inquiry.
