Corporal Joseph YANTERNO, 23 years old, of Company E, Thirty-eighth
Infantry, was killed in action near Metz, Oct. 17, after previously recovering
from a shot wound in the head, Aug. 5, according to word received by his
brother, Peter YANTERNO, of 226 High street. The casualty list gave the
erroneous address of 266 High street.
Corporal YANTERNO, a young Hercules, but two and a half years in the
country from Italy and with but little knowledge of the English language,
left his workbench in a tailor shop and enlisted.
