ONKEN - On Sept 28, August J. ONKEN.  Funeral from his late residence, 77
Second P., on Thursday, Oct. 3; thence to St. Bernard's Church, where a
requiem mass will be said at 10 A.M.

PETERS - On Monday, Sept. 30, 1918, at her late residence, 759 Quincy St.,
Brooklyn, Mabel Alice PETERS, wife of Charles H. PETERS.  Funeral and
interment private.

RONAN - John RONAN son of the late John and Ellen Ronan, died at his
residence, 639 Humboldt St., after a lingering illness.  He is survived by
five sisters and two brothers.  He will be buried from the Church of St.
Cecilia, 9:30 Thursday morning, thence to Calvary Cemetery.  McELROY has
charge of the funeral.

SAVARESE - Raffaele SAVARESE, age 73, died at his residence 125 First Pl.,
Tuesday, Oct. 1.  Funeral Friday at 10 a.m.  Solemn requiem mass at S. S. H.
H. Church of Jesus and Mary, Degraw St., Brooklyn, N. Y.  Interment Holy
Cross Cemetery.

SANDERS - Suddenly, Sept. 30, 1918, Joseph F. SANDERS, in his 55th year.
Services at his late residence, 494 9th St., Thursday at 8 p.m.  Relatives
and friends, also Allemania Lodge, 740, F. and A. M.: Brooklyn Council, No.
34, Knights of the Maccabees, and Hanover Society, are invited to attend.

SMITH - On Tuesday, Oct. 1, 1918, Margaret J. SMITH (nee KERRIGAN), beloved
wife of James H. SMITH.  Funeral from her late home, 83 Underhill Ave., on
Friday, at 9 a.m.; thence to St. Joseph's church, where solemn requiem mass
will be offered.  Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.

WARD - On Monday, Sept. 30, Arnold P. WARD, beloved husband of Minnie (nee
GLERSBERG), and son of Bessie and the late Michael P. WARD.  Funeral on
Thursday, Oct. 3, at 10:00 a.m., from his late residence, 33 Poplar St.

WOLF - On Wednesday, Oct. 2, 1918, Jacob WOLF, son of Moses WOLF and husband
of Irene WEISS.  He is survived by his wife, five sisters and three
brothers.  Funeral from the home of his father, 109 Troy Ave., on Friday,
at 10 a.m.  Interment Washington Cemetery.

Betty N. STRAUSS, widow of Bernard STRAUSS, died on Sunday at her home, ?91
Stuyvesant Avenue.  She was born in Germany ninety years ago and had been a
resident of Brooklyn for sixty years.  She was a charter member of the
Temple Beth Elo??? in Keap Street, a member of the Federation of Hebrew Charities
in Brooklyn and for many years president of the Debornh Society.  She is
survived by two daughters, Mrs. ROTH and Mrs. A. RISENBURGER; two grandsons
and three great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be private, with
interment at Salem Field Cemetery.

Grace McCARTHY, who died yesterday of pneumonia at her home, 681 Fifty-first
Street, was born in Brooklyn fourteen years ago, and was a member of St.
Agatha's R. C. Church, Seventh Avenue and Forty-ninth Street.  She is
survived by her parents, William and Frances MOORE McCARTHY; three sisters,
Elsie, Frances and Helen, and two brothers, William and Charles.  The
funeral will be held on Friday at 2 p.m., with interment at Holy Cross
Cemetery under direction of Edward J. RENO?RD, of 422 Fifth Avenue.

Albert LANDSBERG, well known in Masonic circles as the organist of several
Brooklyn lodges, died on Sunday at his home, 487 Franklin Avenue, after an
illness of two weeks.  For many years he was a teacher of music.  He was a
member of Joppa Lode, No. 201, F. and A. M., Brooklyn Council No. 4, Royal
and Select Masters Damascus Commandery, No. 59, Knights Templar, and various
other fraternal bodies.  He is survived by his widow, and a son.  Funeral
services will be held this evening at his late home, with interment tomorrow
at Cypress Hills Cemetery.

The funeral of Anna M. BERGIN , who died last Thursday at her home, 6
Twenty-first Street, Elmhurst, was held yesterday, with requiem mass in St.
Bartholomew's R. C. Church at 10 a.m.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery.  She
is survived by two daughters and a son, Martin, who is with the United
StatesArmy in France.

Funeral services for Johnson SKIDMORE, who died suddenly on Monday at his
home, 4720 Eighteenth Avenue, will be held this evening at 8 o'clock at his
late home.  Interment tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery.

Sarah KRESBACH, widow of Ferdinand KRESBACH, an old resident of the Eighteen
Ward, died on Monday after a long illness in her sixty-seventh year.  She
had been active for fifty years in the R. C. Church of St. Nicholas and is
survived by two sons, James and John, and a daughter, Mrs. Emma SCHELPP.
The funeral will be held tomorrow morning, with requiem mass in the Church of
St. Nichols.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery.

Mary HIGGINS, who died on Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Helen G.
HOBKIRK, 139 Sterling Street, Flatbush, was born at Rouses Point, N.Y.,
seventy-four years ago, and had been a resident of Brooklyn for more than
fifty years.  She lived for many years in St. Teresa's parish, and was the
widow of Charles S. HIGGINS, widely known in Brooklyn as a manufacturer of
soaps.  Besides her daughter, she is survived by two granddaughters and
three grandsons.The funeral will be private,with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Mary SMITH, who died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. PYMM, 635
Grand street, was born in Ireland fifty-three years ago, and had been a
resident of Brooklyn for thirty-five years.  She is survived by two sons,
James J. and William F., and one daughter.  The funeral will be held on
Friday at 9 a.m. from the home of her daughter, thence to St. Mary's R. C.
Church, Leonard and Maujer Street, where requiem mass will be celebrated.
Interment at Calvary Cemetery under direction of John GLINNEN'S Sons, of 64
Herbert Street.

Corp. Gilbert A. HOURIGAN, who before entering the army five months ago, was
secretary to the vice president of the American Locomotive Company, died on
Saturday in General Hospital No. 55, Fort Oswego, N.Y.  He was born in
Brooklyn twenty-three years ago, a son of Margaret and the late Michael
HOURIGAN.  Besides his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth and
Mrs. Mart HOGAN, and a brother, Private Wilfred HOURIGAN, now at Camp
Fordon, Ga.  The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. with a requiem
mass in St. Brigid's R. C. Church.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under
direction of A. A. DOUGHARTY, of ??? Jay Street.

May G. LEONARD, who died yesterday after a lingering illness at her home,

Josephine A. FADDENBURG, who died on Monday at her home, 1107 Carroll
street, was born in St. Kitts, British West Indies, thirty-five years ago
and had been a resident of New York City for fifteen years.  She was a member of
St. Ignatius' Branch of the L.C.B.A. and of St. Ignatius.....(page too dark

Mary C. KELLY, widow of Patrick KELLY, died on Saturday at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Charles J. ZELLER, 220 Cypress avenue, Flushing.  She was
born in Flushing and had been a resident there all her life.  Besides her
daughter, she is survived by her brother, Thomas KELLY, of Manhattan, and
three sisters, Mrs. ??(page torn and missing) of Rhode Island, Mrs. ???(torn
page) and Elizabeth KELLY.

Irving H. KAUFMAN, born in Rumania thirty two years ago, and a resident of
Brooklyn for sixteen years and of Coney Island for eight years, died
yesterday at his home, Surf avenue and Twenty-first street, after a short
illness.  He was a member of the Knights of Phythias, the Hebrew Club of
Coney Island and the Independent Order of Brith Abraham.  He is survived by
his widow, Estelle; a son, Mortimer; his parents, Harry and Esther, a
brother, Isador, and two sisters, Flora and Rose.  The funeral was held this
afternoon with interment at Mt. Judah Cemetery.

George A. HEILMAN, an old time resident of the Eastern District, but during
the last few years living in the Middle Village section of Queens, died
yesterday of diabetes at his home, 35 Ward street, in his forty-second year.
He was born in Manhattan and when he was a child his parents moved to the
Eastern District.  In later years he took over the large brushmaking
business of his father.  Ten years ago, he moved to Midddle Village, where
he became active in its affairs.   His widow, who was Mary OBERT, survives,
together with a son, Otto, who is in the service, being stationed at Fort
William, Maine, and four sisters, Mrs. Catherine KNOUER, Mrs. Margaret
HUMELL, Mrs. Elizabeth BAUM, and Miss Amelia HELLMAN.  Funeral service will
be held tomorrow night, the Rev. Charles BELL officiating.  Interment private.

Jacob BRAUNREUTHER, who died at his home, 285 Onderdonk avenue, was a member
of General Francis Council 95, Jr. O.U.A.M.  He was born in Brooklyn thirty
years ago and is survived by a widow, Martha; his parents, John and Clara
BRAUNREUTHER, two brothers (part of page missing) and (missing) sisters.

Marion SMITH, a junior..(missing)..Hall Wellesely College, died on Sunday of
Spanish Influenza.  She was born in Brooklyn ? years ago, a daughter of
(missing) and Delia SMITH, and is survived, besides her parents, by two brothers,
Leonard, Jr. and Darwin and one sister, Betsey.  Funeral services were held
last evening at 8 o'clock ..(missing) late home, 8420 Eighteenth (rest missing)

William COLLINS, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. COLLINS, died on Saturday at
Fort Hamilton of pneumonia, following an attack of Spanish influenza.  He
entered the service only a month ago.  He entered the service as a bugler at
Fort Totten, and within three weeks was promoted to the rank of a corporal.
He was only 17 years old.


Edna R. SWEENEY, confidential secretary to the officers of the Mechanics
Bank, died yesterday at her home, 869 Eastern Parkway.  She was born in
Kingston, N. Y., thirty years ago, and had been a resident of Brooklyn for
twelve years.  She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth, and two
brothers, James and Raymond.  The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m.
with requiem mass in St. Gregory's R. C. Church, St. Johns place and
Brooklyn avenue.  Interment at Kingston.

P. Arnold WARD, who died yesterday at his home, 33 Poplar street, was born
in Brooklyn twenty-seven years ago, and is survived by his widow, Minnie
GIERSBERG WARD; his mother, Bessie, and a sister, Grace.  He was a son of
the late Michael P. WARD.  The funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. with
requiem mass in the Church of the Assumption, Carnberry street.  Interment
at St. John's Cemetery under direction of Frank A. DALTON,of 63 DeKalb avenue.

John RONAN, son of the late John and Ellen RONAN, died yesterday after a
lingering illness at his home, 639 Humboldt street.  He was born in Yonkers,
and had been a resident of Brooklyn most of his life.  He is survived by
five sisters and two brothers.  The funeral will be held on Thursday at 9:30
a.m. with requiem mass in St. Cecilia's R. C. Church.  Interment at Calvary
Cemetery under direction of McELROY Sons, of 988 Manhattan avenue.

Martin P. FRENCH, 26 years old, died on Sunday in the Brooklyn Hospital.  He
is survived by his widow, Mary; his parents, William and Kate, and a sister,
Mrs. William GRIMMELL.  The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from his
late home, 12 North Oxford street, with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery
under direction of the United Burial Company, of 1202 Broadway.

Dora FITZGERALD, who died yesterday at her home, 420 Tenth street, was born
in the Fourth Ward, Manhattan, thirty-eight years ago, and had been a
resident of Brooklyn for four years.  She is survived by a sister, Mrs.
PERDUE, and two brothers, John and Thomas.  The funeral will be held on
Thursday at 2 p.m. with interment at Calvary Cemetery under direction of
Henry McCADDIN, of 619 Eighth avenue.

Private John H. MILLER, who died last Saturday at Fort Ontario, Oswego,
N.Y., after a long illness, was born in Brooklyn twenty-six years ago, and
went into the army last November.  Before that he was a chauffeur for the
Newcomb Hat Company.  He is survived by his widow, Elizabeth EBERT MILLER; a
brother, Joseph, now in France, and a sister, Maude Irene.  Funeral services
will be held tomorrow at 8 p.m. at his late home, 67 Underhill avenue, with
interment on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Lutheran Cemetery under direction of
Frank WHITE, of 210 Flatbush avenue.

Duncan MacGREGOR, 69 years old, a resident of Brooklyn for thirty-six years,
died yesterday after an illness of three weeks at his residence, 282 St.
Marks avenue.  He was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, and since 1911 had been
connected with the Ward Baking Company.  he is survived by two daughters,
Mrs. Roy KETCHERN, of Amityville, and Mrs. Eugene COMBS, of Brooklyn, and
four sons; John M., Duncan, George W. and Gilbert.  Funeral services will be
held tomorrow evening.  Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Sarah KRESBACH, widow of Ferdinand KRESBACH, an old resident of the
Eighteenth Ward, died last night after a long illness in her sixty-seventh
year.  She was brought to the section where she died by her parents when she
was six years old, and was active in the affairs of the Roman Catholic
Church of St. Nicholas for more than fifty years.  She also was noted for her many
charities.  She is survived by two sons, James and John, and one daughter,
Mrs. Emma SCHELPP.  The funeral will be held on Thursday morning with
requiem mass in the Church of St. Nicholas.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery.

Elizabeth A. S. LOUGHLIN, principal of Public School No. 56, Richmond Hill,
died last Saturday in the M. E. Hospital.  She was born in Manhattan, and
was educated in the Academy of Mt. St. Vincent.  She had been a school
teacher for thirty years, and belonged to the Catholic Summer School
Association, the Mother's Club of Jamaica, and the New York Teachers'
Association.  She is survived by one son.

Alice McBARREN, died yesterday at her ....(page torn away)........funeral
will be held on Thursday at 9 a.m. with requiem mass at the Church of St.
John the Evangelist.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery under direction of E. H.
LOCKWOOD, of 691 Fifth avenue.

Sadie BROWN,  of 49 South Eighth street, died on Sunday in the Williamsburg
Hospital.  She was 32 years old and is survived by her husband, Frank W.,
and her parents, James and Margaret FLANAGAN.  The funeral will be held
tomorrow at 10 a.m. from the parlors of the United Burial Company, 1202
Broadway.  Interment at St. John's Cemetery.

Charles SCHAFFNER died on Sunday at his home, 826 Malbone street.  He was
born in Manhattan forty-six years ago and, coming to Brooklyn in his early
youth, settled in the Eastern District.  He had been engaged for the past
ten years in the lumber business, and was a regular attendant at the Church of
St. Francis Assisi.  He is survived by his mother, Catherine; a brother,
John, and a sister, Mrs. John TRUMER.  The funeral will be held tomorrow at
2 p.m. with interment in the family plot at Holy Cross Cemetery under
direction of Thomas H. Ireland, of 1088 Nostrand avenue.

Elizabeth ALBRECHT SHEFERS, born in Manhattan and a resident of Brooklyn
most of her life, died on Sunday at her home, 947 Church street, Richmond
Hill.  She was a daughter of the late Charles ALBRECHT, and had been for a
number of years a resident of the Greenpoint section, and a member of St.
Cecilia's R.C. Church.  She is survived by her mother, Christina ALBRECHT;
two brothers, Frederick and Henry ALBRECHT, and a sister, Jessie ALBRECHT.
She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of St. Mary's Hospital.  The
funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. with requiem mass in the Church of
St. Benedict Joseph.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery.

Funeral services for Theodore B. JOHNSON will be held from his late home in
Schermerhorn street on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.; thence to St. Charles
Borromeo's R. C. Church, where requiem mass will be celebrated.  Mr.
JOHNSON, who was 32 years old, died yesterday at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel,
Manhattan, six weeks after his marriage on Aug. 21 to Miss Gertrude HICKS,
daughter of Daniel M. HICKS, of 272 Halsey street, he was taken ill with
influenza a week ago last Sunday and the illness developed into pneumonia.
He had recently been appointed superintendent of lighters and barges by the
Shipping Control Committee of New York and had given up his own business to
give all his time to the government.  He was born in Brooklyn.

After an illness of eight months,Frederick MEYER, 72 years old, died  ???day
at his home 1?0 Clarks avenue.  Funeral services will be held tomorrow
afternoon at his home the Rev. Albert E. RORA??? of the Church of the
Evangel, ?????.  Mr. MEYER was a retired accountant and a former member of
the New York Stock Exchange.  He was also a charter member of Brooklyn
Council, Royal ????.  He was born in Germany and fifty-five years ago was
??? to Mexico with an official mis?????   He dropped out of the party,
forever and joined the United States army.  When his term of enlistment
ended he was appointed then forecaster in St. Louis...??..in 1871 he joined
the polar expedition of Capt. Charles F?????HALL, serving in the capacity of
meteorologist.  He is survived by his widow, Matilda; two sons, Frederick
and Carl, and two daughters, Mrs. H. L. CHAPMAN and Miss ???? M. MEYER.

Genevieve GRAHAM JOHNSTON, wife of Oscar JOHNSTON, died on Monday after a
short illness.  She was born in Brooklyn, was a member of the Church of Our
Lady of Victory, and was a graduate of Brentwood Academy.  She is survived
in addition to her husband by a son, Graham.  The funeral will be held on
Friday at 9 a.m. from her late home, 108 Brooklyn avenue, thence to the
Church of Our Lady of Victory, Throop avenue and McDonough street, where
requiem mass will be celebrated.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under
direction of the estate of James H. TRACY, of 1597 Fulton street.

Signi JACKSON, born in Finland and a resident of Brooklyn for two years died
Monday at his home, 958 ???-second street.  The funeral was held this
afternoon with interment at Linden Hill Cemetery under direction of S.
MENDENHALL, of 933 Thirty-ninth street.

Arthur Paul ATKINSON, a pupil at the Marquand School, died yesterday at his
home, 81 First place.  He was born in Brooklyn on July 25, 1901, and is
survived by his mother, Marie; at sister, Mrs. Ella SCHUCK, and two
brothers, John and Harry.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2
p.m., the pastor of the South Congregational Church, officiating.  Interment
at Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Louis W. THORGESEN, of 300 Court
street.

George F. JOHNSON, who died on Monday of heart disease at his home, 835
Forty-second street, was born in Brooklyn on Oct. 25, 1904.  He attended P.
S. 160 and is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred JOHNSON.  The
funeral will be held tomorrow with interment at Evergreen Cemetery under
direction of S. MENDENHALL, of 923 Thirty-ninth street.

Nellie HALL, born in Brooklyn thirty-three years ago, died on Sunday at
Schenectady, N.Y., of pneumonia.  She is survived by her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Patrick DOWDELL, formerly of the Tenth Ward.  The funeral will be held
tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the home of her parents, 687 Halsey street, with
interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Charles Valentine NEWROD, husband of Emma HOLME NEWROD, died on Monday at
his home, 168 Taylor street.  He was born in Brooklyn thirty-two years ago
and is survived, besides his widow, by his mother, Elizabeth; his father,
Stephen, and two brothers and a sister.  Funeral services will be held this
evening at 8 o'clock with interment at Evergreen Cemetery tomorrow at 10
a.m. under direction of William NECKER, of ???? Gates avenue.

Raffaele SAVERESE, 72 years old, First place.  The funeral will be held on
Friday at 10 a.m. with requiem mass in the Church of Jesus and Mary, Degraw
street.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Nina ODGARD....(too dark to read).  She lived at 70 Mid??? street and is
survived by three children.  The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m.
from 235 Clinton street, with interment at Lutheran Cemetery.

William HOMAN, for many years one of the most active Masonic leaders in the
city, died on Monday, in his fifty-ninth year, at his home, 219 West
Forty-ninth street, Manhattan.  He was a thirty-third degree Mason and an
active member of the Supreme Council, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of the
Northern jurisdiction of the United States.

Mary J. DONAHUE, widow of Phillip DONAHUE, died on Monday at her home, 462
Nostrand avenue.  She is survived by two sons, Robert and James; two
daughters, Mrs. F. C. LUCIA and Mrs. WELBORN, and two sisters, Mrs. F.
BROPHY and Mrs. M. BUSHE.  The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
with requiem mass in the Church of the Nativity, Madison street and Classon
avenue.

John J. O'CONNELL, for the past twenty years a clerk in the Special Term
of the Supreme Court, died today at St. Mary's Hospital, after an
illness of two weeks, of pneumonia.  He was born in Ireland sixty-two
years ago and had been a resident of Brooklyn for fifty years.  He was a
member of the Bedford Council, K. of C., and is survived by his widow,
Margaret; two daughters, Mary E. Callahan and Anna L. and three sons,
Edward, William and George A.  The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9
a.m. from his late home, 114 Lincoln place; thence to St. Augustine's R.
C. Church, where requiem mass will be celebrated.  Interment at Holy

Loretta Pauline FROST, who died at her home, 227 Eighty-ninth street,
Bay Ridge, yesterday, was the wife of Arthur E. Frost, son of John F.
FROST, publisher of the Brooklyn "Citizen".  Mrs. FROST was a daughter
of John A. and Catherine CREIGHTON LLOYD, and was a talented and popular
young woman in church and social circles.  She was a graduate of St.
Patrick's School, Kent and Willoughby avenues.  The death of Mrs. FROST
occurred on the anniversary of her wedding on Oct. 2, 1917.  She was ill
but one week.  Mrs. FROST is survived by her mother, Catherine CREIGHTON
LLOYD, and the following sisters and brother:  Mrs. George LENNOX, Mrs.
James FITZGERALD, the Misses Sadie, Frances, Kathryn, Irene and Theresa
LLOYD, and John M. LLOYD.  The funeral will be held from the family

Richard O'KEEFE, son of the late William and Margaret O'KEEFE, died on
Tuesday at his home, 2823 Cortelyou road, after a lingering illness.  He

Florence BRACE,  five year old daughter of John and Frances BRACE, died

Frank ACCURSE, of Brooklyn, died on Tuesday of pneumonia at Camp Cordon,
Atlanta, Ga., where he had been only a short time.  He was a member of
Company E., Fourth Infantry Replacement Regiment.

Nellie MARTIN, wife of Edward J. Martin, died yesterday at her home, 315
Quincy street.  She is survived, besides her husband, by three sons,
George, Vincent and Joseph, and three daughters, Marie, Genovieve and
Helen.  The funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m., with requiem
mass in St. Abrose's R. C. Church.

Joseph O'NEILL, who died on Tuesday in the Greenpoint Hospital after a
short illness, was born in Brooklyn thirty-one years ago.  He is
survived by his mother, Mary; a sister, Mrs. FRANCEY; and two brothers,
Charles and Eugene.  The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

William E. TIMMONS, who died on Tuesday after a long illness at the home
of his sister, Fannie SMITH, 287 Hancock street, was born in England

twenty-four years.  He was a member of the U. S. Merchant Marine, and is
survived by two brothers.  Patrolman Frank TIMMONS, of the Traffic
Squad, and Capt. Peter TIMMONS, of the a. E. F. in France, and his

Lawrence MOONEY, who died on Tuesday in St. Catharine's Hospital, after
a short illness of pneumonia, was born in this country twenty-eight
years ago and was a member of St. Patrick's R. C. Church.  He is

Robert F. HILL, a private in the United States Motor Storage Depot at
Camp Holabird, Baltimore, died on Sunday of pneumonia while en route to
Fort McHenry.  He was born in Maspeth twenty-seven years ago and was a
member of John A. Logan Council, Jr., O. U. A. M.  He is survived by his
parents and a brother, Charles, of the United States Aviation Corps at
Garden City.  Funeral services were held last evening at his late home,
601 Lafayette, with interment today at Greenwood Cemetery.

Sergt. Charles KESSELBACH, a member of the 334th Guard and Fire Company,
died on Tuesday at Camp Mills.  He is survived by his mother and a
brother, William, who is in France.  He was born in Brooklyn twenty-four

Thomas J. LENNON, husband of the late Mary A. LENNON and father of the
late Charles LENNON, superintendent of the Department of Highways, died

had been a resident of Brooklyn since early youth.  He was a retired
carpenter and one of the first graduates of St. James School in Jay
street.  He is survived by two daughters, Anna and Mrs. P. F. KEYES, and
two grandchildren, Helen and Marie KEYES.  The funeral will be held on

John SCHIELER, born in Brooklyn forty-four years ago, died on Tuesday in
the State Hospital.  He is survived by his mother, Henrietta, and four
brothers and a sister.  The funeral was held today from the home of his
mother, 270 Pennsylvania avenue, with interment at Evergreen Cemetery.

Patrolman Andrew M. MULLEN, for the past four years attached to Special
Squad No. 2 at Brooklyn Police Headquarters, died today at his home, 366
East 159th street, the Bronx, after a short illness of pneumonia.  He
was an active member of the Patrolmen's Benevolent Association.

Harry GRAY died yesterday at his home, 1035 Putnam avenue.  He is
survived by one daughter, Blanche.  He was born in Manhattan sixty-five
years ago and had been a resident of Brooklyn for twenty-seven years.

Mortan VAN MOPPES, a yeoman in the U. S. Navy, died last Friday of
pneumonia at Newport, R. I.  He was born in Newark, N. J. twenty years
ago, and had been a student at New York University.  Before enlisting,
seven weeks ago, he had been employed by the R. H. Ingersoll Company,
and was a member of the Phi beta Delta fraternity.  He is survived by
his parents, Samson S. and Esther, and two sisters, Sadie and Sylvia.
The funeral was held on Tuesday with interment at Washington Cemetery.

Donald G. COPP, a first-class yeoman in the U. S. N. R. F., died on
Sunday of pneumonia in the Methodist Episcopal Hospital.  He was born in
Brooklyn twenty-one years ago and was formerly in the employ of the
Crucible Steel company.  Funeral services, held Tuesday evening at his
late home, 1836 East Twelfth street, were conducted by the Rev. O. E.
FLETCHER, of the Gravesend Reformed church.  Interment yesterday at

Agnes E. FOOTE, formerly proprietor of an embroidery shop in Brooklyn,

Frederick J. ATHING, a retired master baker, formerly in business on

MOSLER, Mrs. Emily MEYNE, Mrs. Martha MILLS, Mrs. Betty CRANE and

Joseph A. ELLIOTT, for several years a resident of Richmond Hill, died

Walter and John, and two sisters, Mary ELLIOTT and Mrs. H. H. DeRANCY.

Thomas J. SULLIVAN, a retired policeman of Manhattan, died on Monday at
the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gilbert PARTRIDGE, 170 East Seventeenth
street.  He was born in County Galway, Ireland, seventy-three years ago,
and had been a patrolman for twenty-five years.  He is survived, besides
his daughter, by three sisters, Kate and Elizabeth SULLIVAN, and Mrs.
Maria MORRELL, of New Milford, Conn.  The funeral was held yesterday

Gladys WHITELEY GETZ, daughter of Hazel G. and the late Robert A.
WHITELEY, died yesterday after a lingering illness at her home, 611

Corporal William W. WAINER, 18 years old, who was instantly killed on
Sept. 20 by a shock from an electric motor at the Special Service Camp,

John J. RIST, born in Brooklyn twenty-six years ago, died yesterday at

Bernard J. GOETTE, a machinist died on Wednesday at his home, 92
Prospect avenue, after a short illness.  He was born in Brooklyn thirty

was born in County Longford, Ireland, and had been a resident of

Ward, and was employed by the city for many years.  He was a member of
the International Payers' Union, Local No. 2, and the Holy Name Society
of St. Teresa's R. C. Church.  He is survived by a son, Eugene J.  The

John MACKIN, son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth MACKIN, died on
Tuesday at Darbey, Pa.  He is survived by a brother, William, and three

Charles CLARK, who died yesterday at the home of his sister, Mrs.

years ago, and had been a resident of Brooklyn for thirty years.  He is

Mrs. Patrick SMITH, Mrs. Patrick McFADDEN and Susan CLARK.  He was a
member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division No. 34, and the Holy

James V. KERRIGAN, for the past two years a collector for the Brooklyn
Union Gas Company, died yesterday in St. Catherine's Hospital.  He was
born in Brooklyn twenty-two years ago and attended the school of Our
Lady of Good Counsel.  He was a son of the late Thomas and Ellen
KERRIGAN and resided at 6 Pilling street.  He is survived by two
sisters, Mrs. EGAN, of Hartford, Conn., and Elizabeth, and two brothers,
Thomas and Joseph, the latter a member of Company 30, Eighth Battalion,
153d Depot Brigade, at Camp Dix.  The funeral will be held on Monday at
8:30 a.m. from the funeral parlors of J. J. GALLAGHER Sons, 25 Aberdeen

Leah MYERS, a resident of the Sixteenth Ward for more than fifty-five
years, died yesterday at her home, 535 Broadway.  She was a charter
member of Chapter 42, O. E. S., and past president of Rankin Corps, No.
154.  She is survived by a son, Julian, and a daughter, Catherine.

Mary LOGAN, born in County Ballinmore, Ireland, and a resident of

Augusta Frances METZGER died on Wednesday of pneumonia at her home, 1714
Grove street.  She was born in Brooklyn twenty-four years ago, and had
been employed as a stenographer for the Nitro Chemical Company.  She was

parents, two brothers, Charles and Frank, and two sisters, Martha SCHULZ

Anna G. BRYANT, who died last Sunday at her home, 129 West 113d street,
Manhattan, of pneumonia, was, for eighteen years, a resident of Brooklyn
before moving to her late address.  She was born in Washington, D. C.
and is survived by her husband Achilles R. BRYANT and a brother and
sister.  Funeral services were held on Wednesday, the Rev. Mr. BOLDEN,
pastor of the First Emanuel Church, Manhattan, of which she was a
member, officiating.  Interment at Evergreen Cemetery under direction of

Edward DURFEY, an engineer, died on Tuesday at his home,  98 Harman
street.  He was born in Norwich, Conn., seventy-two years ago and is
survived by his widow, Louise, and a sister.  Funeral services were held
today with interment at Evergreen Cemetery.

Adolph FELDMANN, owner of FELDMANN's Driving Park, died on Wednesday of
pneumonia at his home, 218 Garrison street.  He was born in Austria
seventy-five years ago and has been a resident of Brooklyn for fifty
years.  He is survived by two sons, Charles and Richard, and three
daughters, Mrs. Rose TURK,  Mrs. Josephine WAHNER and Mrs. Anna KENDALL.
The funeral will be held on Sunday at 10 a.m., with interment at

Imogene C. ODELL died on Wednesday at her home, 33 Van Buren street.
She was born in Manhattan sixty-one years ago and came to Brooklyn in
1869 and joined St. John's M. E. Church.  She had been employed by the
Methodist Book Concern for thirty-five years.  She is survived by three
sisters, Mrs. Adelaide BRYANT, Mrs. John NEELY and Mrs. William LEISER.
Funeral services will be held this evening at her late home, with
interment tomorrow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Joseph O'NEILL, for many years prominent in politics of the Fourteenth
Assembly District, died on Wednesday of the Spanish influenza after a
very brief illness at his home, 222 Wilson street.  Mr. O'NEILL was
formerly president of the Young Men's Democratic Club of the Fourteenth
Ward.  He was a forceful orator and took an active part in all the
election campaigns as well as the civic and local improvements of the
district.  He was engaged in the stevedore business.  The funeral will
be held from his residence on Saturday morning.

Anna Marie WEILANDT, 63 years old, died on Tuesday at her home 1622
Hancock street.  She is survived by her husband, August; a daughter,
Anna Marie, and three sons, August, Andrew and Michael.  The funeral
will be held tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. with requiem mass in St. Mathias' R.
C. Church, Catalpa avenue.  Interment at St. John's Cemetery, under
direction of Mrs. George EHLENBERGER, of 295 Wyckoff street.

John EGLEHOFF, a retired dry goods merchant, formerly in business at 312
Fifth avenue, died suddenly on Monday at Los Angeles, Ca., where he went
a year ago for his health. He was born in Germany seventy-six years ago,
and came to this country when he was a boy.  He retired from business
five years ago.  He is survived by his widow, Louise; a daughter,
Amelia; two sons, Edward H. and Frederick B., and a grandchild.

Milton KNAPP, a member of the New York Produce Exchange and formerly a
well known resident of Brooklyn, died on Tuesday at his home in North
Plainfield, N. J.  He was born in Manhattan seventy-nine years ago, but
had spent most of his lifetime in Brooklyn.  He is survived by his
widow, and a daughter.  Funeral services were held this afternoon at his
late home, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery.

Richard W. DARLING, a lawyer with offices on lower Broadway, Manhattan,
died on Wednesday at his home, 808 Eighth avenue.  He was born in
Philadelphia, fifty-eight years ago, a son of Rev. Dr. Henry DARLING,
president of Hamilton College.  Richard DARLING had been a resident of
Brooklyn for twenty years.  He was a graduate of Amherst and a member of
the University Club, and the Memorial Presbyterian Church.  He is
survived by three sisters, Mary, Margaretta DARLING, with whom he lived,
and Frances, the wife of the Rev. Dr. Edward NILES, of Baltimore,
formerly pastor of the South Bushwick Reformed Church.  Interment will
be at the Albany Rural Cemetery.

William J. MONAHAN, who died on Tuesday at his home, 507 Fifth avenue,
was a son of Mary and the late John MONAHAN, and beside his mother is
survived by two sisters, Catherine FERGUSON and Mary REID, and two
brothers, Michael and Joseph.  He was a member of the Independent Order
of Odd Fellows.  The funeral was held from his late home this morning at
9:30 o'clock, thence to the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help,
Fifty-ninth street and Fifth avenue, where requiem mass was celebrated.

William E. CLEARY, born in Portland, Me., Dec. 8, 1876, a son of the
late Michael and Catherine CLEARY, died on Wednesday at his home, 2
Adelphi street, after a brief illness of acute nephritis.  He was
educated at Harvard University and had served several enlistments in the
U. S. Marine Corps.  His last enlistment expired in July, last, and he
was about to re-enlist when stricken ill.  He was a veteran of the
Spanish-American War, and a gunnery sergeant.  He was a member of the
Sacred Heart R. C. Church and is survived by one sister, Mrs. C. F.
KENDALL, of New Haven, Conn.  Interment in the family plot at Calvary
Cemetery under direction of William DUNIGAN & Son, 201 Park avenue.

Regina F. GUINAN, daughter of John and Alice GUINAN, died on Wednesday
at her home, 336 Fourteenth street.  She was born in Brooklyn in 1905
and was a pupil at the parochial school of the Holy Family.  Besides her
parents, she is survived by two brothers, John and Daniel, and three
sisters, Marian, Elinor and Catherine.  The funeral will be held
tomorrow at 8 a.m., with a requiem mass in Holy Family Church.

Dr. Owen E. HOUGHTON, a prominent Brooklyn dentist, who had twice been
president of the Brooklyn section of the New York Dental Association and
was at one time an Alderman from the Twentieth Ward, died on Wednesday
at his home, 126 South Oxford street.  He was born in Philadelphia
sixty-nine years ago and was graduated from the New York College of
Dentistry in 1871.  He was one of the organizers of the old Brooklyn
United League Club, a member of the Lincoln Club, Brooklyn Lodge, No.
22, B. ?? O. E.; the Brooklyn Dental Society and De Witt Clinton
Council.  He had practiced dentistry at his South Oxford street
residence for the past forty years and had a large patronage of the old

NORWEGIAN SAILOR BLOWS OUT THE GAS
Elling HOFF, 28 years old, a Norwegian sailor, of 31 Second place, was
familiar with the ways of city life, but was subject to spells of
absent -mindedness.  He had one yesterday and when he went to his room last
night, he blew out the gas.  His housekeeper, Hannah LAWSON, found him
unconscious today.  Dr. BORGIA, of Swedish Hospital said he was dead.

One Brooklyn family has a record of two dead and two sick.
Charles HUDSON, 36, of 432 Halsey street, died on Wednesday in the
Bushwick Hospital of the disease, and his brother, George HUDSON,
died last evening of the same disease.  Their  mother and sister
lie sick at their home.  HUDSON was employed as a cashier in
Bristol's restaurant on Willoughby street, and was a member of
Brooklyn Lodge, No. 14, L. O. O. M.  His funeral services will be
held this evening at the funeral parlors of the Estate of George
PETH, 434 Central avenue.  George HUDSON, was 39, and was a
paymaster in the Quartermaster's Department at Fort Hamilton.  He
was a member of the Odd Fellows.  His funeral will be held
to-morrow evening in the same parlors.  Interment for both will be
held on Sunday at Wading River.

DEFECTIVE FIXTURE CAUSES DEATH BY GAS
Thomas BELL, 36 years old, was found dead in his room at 31 South Third
street, early today.  He had been asphyxiated by gas, which escaped from a
defective fixture.

INFLUENZA VICTIM LEAPS TO DEATH:
Rose LEVY,18 years old, of 4809 Fourth avenue  was instantly
killed this morning.  She had been suffering from influenza and
becoming delirious during the night went to the bedroom window on
the fourth floor of her home and leaped out.

James Howard WEST, born in Trenton, N. J. in 1851, the son of the late James
and Mary WILKINSON HOWARD WEST, died yesterday at his home, 632 Eleventh
street.  He had been a resident of Brooklyn for fifteen years and was
cashier for the Domestic Laundry Co.  He is survived by three sons, Robert
N., Howard H., and James E.; three daughters, Mrs. Minnie AMES, Mrs. Arthur
GRANGER and Miss Gertrude WEST, and two sisters, Miss Anna WEST and Mrs.

Albert W. GUNN, a member of the real estate firm of A. J. GUNN & Co., died

Infantry in France, and Leon, a member of the Marines at San Domingo, and

Private Jacob F. KOEUNE, of 165 Graham avenue, who died Tuesday at Lonoko,

Patrolman William W. LEWIS, of 39 Somers street, attached to Inspector
McDONALD's staff at Headquarters, in Poplar street, died of pneumonia in the
Brooklyn Hospital yesterday.  LEWIS had been in the department for three
years.  He had served a term of enlistment in the Navy.

Michael McCORMICK died Wednesday. He was born in County Westmeath, Ireland,
twenty-seven years ago, had lived here since 1914 and is survived by two
brothers, John and Patrick, in Ireland, and one sister, May McCOURT, of 445
Twentieth street, from whose home the funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m.

Bridget McSHERRY, wife of Philip McSHERRY, formerly of Manhattan, died
yesterday at her home, 47 Decatur street.  She was 65 years old, and is

John KOEDDING, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. KOEDDING, of 1845 West Thirteenth

New York City twenty-one years ago.  He served on the Mexican border with
the Fourteenth Regiment and at the outbreak of war with Germany, enlisted in

Corporal Warren STEIN, of 64 Brower avenue, Rockville Centre, died Thursday
morning from pneumonia at Camp Upton.  Corp. STEIN was 21 years old and the
son of Mr. and Mrs. F. STEIN.  He was in the army about three weeks when
promoted to corporal.

Catherine SMITH, wife of Joseph SMITH and daughter of Mary BALOON KEGNEY and
the late Joseph KEGNEY, died Thursday at her home, 426 Fourth avenue.  She
is survived by her husband, three children, her mother, one sister and four

Elizabeth M. BLAUVELT died today at her home, 882 Flatbush avenue.  She was

James B. M. DOYLE, who died Thursday in St. Catherine's Hospital, was born

Marie M. CANNON, who died suddenly yesterday at her home 1820 Eighty-fifth

Walter DECKER, composer and organist, died yesterday after an operation in
the Methodist Episcopal Hospital.  He was a member of the Marcy Avenue
Baptist Church and Long Island Lodge, F. and A. M.  For sixteen years, he
was organist of the Greenpoint Tabernacle.  He also was organist in the New
York Avenue M. E. and Grace Presbyterian churches.  He is survived by a
widow, Florence and one sister, Mrs. Austin.  The funeral services will be
held tonight at 8 o'clock at his late home, ??? Jefferson avenue.

Helene SCHNEIDER died Wednesday at her home, 32 Argyle road.  She was 57
years old, and a member of the Current Events Club.  She is survived by her
husband, Adolph; one son, Arthur, of the American Surety Company and two
daughters, Mrs. Edward SQUIRE and Mrs. Raymond W. MARSHALL.  The funeral was
held today with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

William C. WIESS, a veteran of the Civil War and a member of D?vin Post, No.
148, G. A. R., died Wednesday at his home, 88 Clifton place.  He was born in
Germany seventy-five years ago; had lived here for seventy years and since
1900 had been a newsdealer at Fulton and Smith streets.  He is survived by
three sons, William, Charles and Martin, and three daughters, Mrs. Dora
ECHARD, Mrs. Margaret GRIES and Mrs. Minnie SATCHELL.  The remains were
buried today under the auspices of the G. A. R., Greenwood Cemetery.

Catherine H. TONJES, born in Germany thirty-eight years ago, and a member of
the Ladies' Aid Society of the German Lutheran Church of St. Peter, died on
Wednesday at her home, 157 Hooper street.  She is survived by her husband,
Arend; one daughter, Helen; one sister, Mrs. John HOLKAMP, and two brothers,

Agnes V. FALLON, who died yesterday at her home, 115 Jay street, was born in

Catherine BECK, widow of John BECK, died suddenly yesterday at her home, 289
Woodbine street.  She was born in Belleville, N. J., on July 11, 1858, and
is survived by three sons, Andrew and Michael DOLAND, and John BECK, and
three daughters, Mary, Catherine and Anna BECK.  The funeral will be held
next Tuesday, with a requiem mass at St. Brigid's R. C. Church at 10 a.m.
Interment at Calvary Cemetery.

William Joseph O'NEILL, son of Michael F. and the late Bridget PURCELL
O'NEILL, died last Friday at his home, 137 Rochester avenue.  He was born in
Brooklyn thirty-eight years ago and had been employed by A. D. Matthews and
Sons, as a salesman in the upholstery department, eighteen years.  For the
past two years, employed by the Ford Investment Company, of Lafayette
street, Manhattan.  He is survived by his father and four sisters, Mrs. A.
STARTLING, Mrs. A. HORSHMAN, Mrs. M. KELLY and Agnes O'NEILL.  The funeral
will be held next Tuesday at 2 p.m. with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery
under the direction of D. J. LANGTON & Sons, of 74 Utica avenue.

Requiem mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. tomorrow in the Church of the
Sacred Heart, for Mary Agnes WARD, who died Thursday at her home, 34 Adelphi
street.  The Rev. Fathers SULLIVAN, LEONARD and DWYER will officiate.  The
remains will be buried in Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of W.
DUNNIGAN & Son, of 201 Park avenue.  Miss WARD was the daughter of Peter and
Ellen CASSIDY WARD and in addition is survived by four brothers, John J.,
Martin F., Peter and Thomas and an uncle, Thomas CASSIDY; two aunts, Mrs.
John POWERS, of Orange County, and Mrs. James MONAHAN, of Brooklyn, and
several cousins, among them, Sister Mary AUSTIN, of the Convent of Mercy at
Syosset; James CURRY , who is in the Naval Reserves, and John McCANN, a
private in the Seventh Company of the Second Battalion at Camp Upton.  Miss
WARD was employed as a private secretary by one of the officials of the
Western Union Telegraph Co., in Broad street, Manhattan, and was a member of
the Blessed Virgin Sodality, and the dramatic society of the Red Cross Unit
of Sacred Heart Church.  She was a graduate of Public School 12.

Frederick J. BRECHT, who was killed yesterday at Myrtle and Ford avenues,
Glendale, by an automobile, was born in Philadelphia, Pa., fifty-nine years
ago and had been a resident of Brooklyn forty years.  He is survived by his
widow, Barbara; five sons, George F., William, Albert S., Lewis and Charles,
and a daughter, Mrs. Anna LACHAT.  The funeral services will be held
tomorrow at 8 p.m. at his late home, 12 Deyo street.  Interment next Tuesday
at 10 a.m. under the direction of Charles C. May Sons, of 2??5 Myrtle avenue.

Madeline McCOLE died yesterday at her home, 123 Prospect street.  She was
born in Brooklyn twenty-six years ago and is survived by her husband, John,
two sons, John, Jr., and James, and a daughter, Adeleine.  She was a member
of St. Anne's R. C. Church, where a requiem mass will be celebrated next
Tuesday at 9 a.m.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under the direction of
T. J. HIGGINS, of 214 Jay street.

Thomas SWANWICK, of the Twelfth Company, Third Training Battalion, 153d
Depot Brigade, died last Tuesday at Camp Dix, N. J., of Spanish influenza.
He was born in Manhattan twenty-one years ago, but had been a resident of
Brooklyn fifteen years and of West New York, N. J., the past six years,
living at 595 Bergenline avenue.  He was formerly a pupil of P.S. No. 10
and is survived by three brothers, William, Leo and Charles, and two
sisters, Josephine and Mrs. W. SMITH.  The funeral was held yesterday with a
requiem mass at St. Joseph's R. C. Church, of the Palisades, at 9 a.m.
Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery.

Harry CASPERSON, who died last Thursday in the Brooklyn Hospital of Spanish
influenza, was born in Norway thirty-two years ago and had been a resident
of Brooklyn ten years.  He was captain of a towboat and was a member of the
Lutheran Church.  He is survived by a brother and a sister.  The funeral was
held yesterday, with interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery under the direction
of William J. HURLEY, of 195 Court street.

George J. McDONOUGH, who was chief boatswains' mate of the U.S.S. St. Paul,
died last Wednesday in the Naval Hospital.  He was born in New York City and
had been a resident of Brooklyn sixteen years, enlisting in the Navy seven
years ago.  He was the son of the late Lieut. Michael and Julia McDONOUGH,
and is survived by a sister, Julia; a brother, Frank, and a niece.  The
funeral will be held today at 3 p.m. from his late home, 110 Halleck avenue,
with interment at Calvary Cemetery.

Patrolman William W. LEWIS, thirty years old, died after a short illness of
pneumonia at his late home, 29 Somers street, on Friday.  He was a life long
resident of Brooklyn and was attached to Special Police Squad No. 2.  He is
survived by his wife, Lillian; his mother, Mamie LEWIS, and a sister, Mrs.
F. D. McLAUGHLIN, all residents of Brooklyn.  Funeral services will be held
at 8 p.m. tomorrow from his home. Interment at Lutheran Cemetery 

John COUGHLIN, husband of Annie COUGHLIN, died last Friday at his home, 209
Hooper street.  He was formerly in the trucking business in Manhattan and is
survived, besides his widow, by three daughters, May, Margaret and Anna, and
two sons, Herbert and Raymond. The funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m.,
with a requiem mass at the Church of the Transfiguration , Marcy avenue and
Hooper street.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery.

William A. SHEA, died suddenly last Thursday at Waverly, Mass. He lived at
212 Nassau street and was the son of the late Cornelius and Julia SHEA.  He
is survived by a brother, Joseph, with the American aviation forces, and a
sister,  Agnes MANJIE.

Samuel H. VICTOR died last Friday at his home, 110 Ralph avenue in his
forty-ninth year.  He is survived by his widow, Clara.  He was a member of
the Exempt Volunteer Firemen of Rockaway Beach, Fidelity Council, No. 5  I.
O. F.  The funeral will be held today at 2:30 p.m. with interment at 
Evergreen Cemetery.

Joseph MALADY died last Wednesday in the Brooklyn State Hospital from
influenza.  He was born in Brooklyn fifty-nine years ago and was a member of
the First Baptist Church.  He is survived by two brothers, George and
Edward.  The funeral was held last Friday, with interment at Evergreen
Cemetery under the direction of William J. HURLEY, of 195 Court street.

Katherine WEBER died yesterday at her home, 99 Diamond street.  She was born
in Germany seventy-three years ago and had been a resident of Brooklyn
seventy years.  She is survived by three sons, William, George, and Jacob; a
daughter, Katherine BRENNAN; thirteen grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.  The funeral services will be held this evening at 8:30
o'clock at home, with interment tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Lutheran Cemetery
under the direction of C. TREBOR, of 134 Greenpoint avenue.

Susan LYNCH died suddenly yesterday at her home, 139 Eleventh street.  She
is survived by her husband, Philip, a son, Philip, Jr.; three daughters,
Florence, Loretta and Margaret,  her parents and three brothers.  She was a
member of the Church of St.Thomas Aquinas.  The funeral will be held next
Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. under the direction of Howard & Howard, of 103 Twelfth street.

Margaret DUNN died last Friday at her home, 445 Degraw street.  She was born
in County Wexford, Ireland sixty-one years ago and had been a resident of
Brooklyn for fifty years.  The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
from the home of Mrs. Johanna CLIFFORD, 445 Degraw street thence to St.
Agnes' R. C. Church, where a requiem mass will be celebrated.  Interment at

Edward A. WARNER, who died Friday at his home, 399 St. Johns place, was born
in Maple Hill, Kan.,  Sept 4, 1878.  At the age of 12, he went to Roslyn,
where he lived until eight years ago, when he made his home in Brooklyn.  He
was a partner in the Petroleum Producing Company, of 51 Front street,
Manhattan and is survived by his widow, Ruth BLAUM WARNER; four sisters,
Mrs. E. DIETRICH, Mrs. J. E. BALDWIN,  Madge WARNER and a sister in
California.  The funeral services will be held today at 3 p.m. at his late
home, the Rev. L. E. SIMMONS, of the Westminster Presbyterian Church,
officiating.  Interment tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Toslyn, under the direction
of Louis W. THORGESON, of 300 Court street.

Arthur DOLAN died last night at his home, 63 Henry street.  He was born in
the Fifth Ward of Brooklyn thirty years ago, and had been in the trucking
business at Fulton Market.  He is survived by his brother, Peter, and an
aunt, Mary.  The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. tomorrow with a requiem
mass at the Church of the Assumption.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery
under the direction of B. W. REILLY, of 9 Henry street.

Theresa V. GARRITY, widow of Capt. Daniel J. GARRITY, of the New York Fire
Department, died last Friday at her home, 286 President street.  She was
born in Brooklyn and is survived by a son, Thomas F., and a daughter, Maud
C.  The funeral will be held next Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., with a requiem mass
at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under

Lieut. Austin P. CANNING, U.S.N.R.F., died Sept 27 in Brest, France, of
pneumonia.  He was attached to the U.S.S. Louisville and enlisted in the
Navy eight years ago.  He was born in New ??? thirty-seven years ago and has
been a resident of Brooklyn fifteen years.  Before enlisting he was employed
by the Government as a chief ???  He is survived by his widow, Catherine, 2
sons, John and Austin, his mother, Hannah; three brothers, Ernest, Frederick
and John and a sister, Mary.  Memorial services will be held next Tuesday in
St. Mary Star of the Sea Church.

Joseph F. DUGDALE, a member of the Sixth Company, 152 Depotd Brigade, died
suddenly last Thursday at Camp Upton.  He was a graduate of P.S. 32 and is
survived by his parents, six sisters and a brother.  The funeral will be
held tomorrow from his late home, 72 Second street; thence to the Church of
St. Mary Star of the Sea, where a requiem mass will be celebrated.

Joseph B. BARRY, born in Brooklyn thirty-eight years ago and a graduate of
St. Peter's School, died last Friday after a brief illness at his home, 141
Fourteenth street.  He was employed at the Bush Terminals the past six years
and is survived by a daughter, Josephine; two brothers, Patrick and James,
and a sister, Mrs. M. GEOGHAGEN.  The funeral will be held tomorrow at 9:30
a.m. with a requiem mass at the Church of the Holy Family, Fourteenth street
and Fourth avenue, at 10 a.m.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under the

Frederick GROSS, for the past eleven years treasurer of the Marcy
Foundry Company of New York, died Saturday at his home 1816 Avenue J.
He was born in New York City forty-one years ago and had been a resident
of Brooklyn all his life.  He was a member of the Stove Salesmen's
Association of New York and is survived by a widow, Mae M.; a daughter,
Edith M.; his father, Arnold HAUSER, and a brother, Emil HAUSER, and two
sisters, Anna and August GROSS.  Funeral services will be held this
evening at 8 o'clock at his late home, with interment tomorrow at
Evergreen Cemetery.

Peter J. HURLEY, who died Friday at his home, 145 Myrtle avenue, was
born in New York City twenty-four years ago and had been a resident of
Brooklyn all of his life.  He had been employed by the Barclay Naval
Stores, manufacturers of high class varnishes, of Brooklyn, and is
survived by two brothers, Thomas and Raymond, and two sisters, Mrs.
James MONROE and Ethel HURLEY.  The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2
p.m., with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, under direction of J.
McCLEAN, of 263 Bridge street.

George SHRECK died Saturday in Bellevue Hospital, Manhattan.  He was
born in Germany fifty-five years ago, had been a resident of Brooklyn
for thirty-five years and was a member of the Concordia Schuetzenbund.
He is survived by a widow, Marie, and two sons, Joseph and Frank.  The
funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at his late home, 643
Classon avenue.  Interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery under direction of

James HANSEN, who was struck by an automobile on Saturday in front of
his home, 530 Clinton street, died later in the Long Island College
hospital.  He was born in Brooklyn and is survived by his parents, Abel
and Laura HANSEN, and one brother, Alvin.  The Rev. F. TURMO will
conduct the funeral services at 10 a.m. tomorrow.  Burial in Evergreen

Thomas B. GRIFFIN,died yesterday at his home, 143 Linden avenue.  He was
born in London, England, sixty years ago, had lived in Brooklyn for
forty-seven years and was a well known artist and a member of the
Brooklyn Society of Artists.  He is survived by a widow, Florence N.,
and five daughters, Florence, Grace, Mildred, Edna and Alice.  The
funeral services will be held tonight at 8 o'clock.  Burial tomorrow at
Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Harry F. BLAIR, of 723 Coney

Thomas McCORMACK, associated with the Hamilton Press, of New York, died
Saturday at Malden, J. Y.  He was born in Brooklyn fifty-one years ago
and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo.  He is survived by two
brothers, Peter and Charles.  The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday from the parlors of J. J. CRONIN, 115 Atlantic avenue, thence

Patrick HUSSEY, son of Daniel and the late Mary McGUIRE HUSSEY, died
yesterday at his home, 184 Warren street.  He is survived, in addition

John J. BYRNE, son of Cornelius and Bridget MEEHAN BYRNE, died yesterday

The funeral of Mary Agnes KUJATH , who died Saturday at her home, 81

Martyrs and is survived by her husband, Michael; one son, Robert, her

Benjamin CHASE, for twenty-two years a singer in the First Reformed
Church, died yesterday at his home, 1233 Fifty-seventh street.  He was
born in Sturgiss, Mich., fifty-nine years ago and had been a resident of
Brooklyn for thirty years.  He is survived by a widow, Blanche, and one
son, Benjamin.  The funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. tomorrow.

Dorothy MARTIN, born in Brooklyn twenty-four years ago, died Saturday at
her home, 36? East Thirty-fifth street.  She is survived by her husband,
Robert, and son, Francis F.; one sister, Barbara, and one brother,

Walter TATRO died last Thursday in Long Island College Hospital.  He was
born in Centerville, R. I.  ????-three years ago and was a steward on

Lena LERCH  died yesterday at her home, 191 Woodbine street.  She was
born in Germany in 1867, had lived here for thirty-three years and is

Katharine L COOK, wife of Thomas COOK, died Saturday at her home, 184

Field, Mineola, died there last Friday.  He was born in Greenpoint and

and John.  The funeral will be held from his late home, 24 Anable

William Russell DREW died yesterday at his home, 816 East Thirty-fourth
street.  He was born in Brooklyn in 1893 and was employed by the Mutual
Life Insurance Company, of Manhattan.  He was a member of the Church of
St. Jerome, where mass of the requiem will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
tomorrow.  He is survived by his parents, William A. and Belinda
STACKPOLE DREW;  three brothers,  John Harold, Lester and Leroy, and one

Cornelius G. O'CONNELL, born in Brooklyn in 1897, the son of James. D.
and Mary GALLAGHER O'CONNELL, died yesterday at his home, 328 Myrtle
avenue.  He was a graduate of the Sacred Heart Institute and had been
employed by the Charles Williams Stores.  He was a member of the Holy
Name Society of the Sacred Heart, and the Young Man's (unreadable - too

Joseph BUTERA died Saturday at his home, 10 Sixteenth street.  He was
born in Brooklyn, and is survived by his parents Calogero and Maria
BUTERA; and on sister.  The funeral was held today with burial in Holy
Cross Cemetery, under direction of M. LEAHY, of 257 Hamilton avenue.

Edna Paul WEYGAND, born in Brooklyn 25 years ago, the daughter of
Mildred SPENCY and the late Charles JACOBY, died yesterday at her home,
481 Clermont avenue.  She is survived by her husband, Robert Weygand,
two daughters, Catherine Margaret and Edna; her mother, three brothers,
Herbert, Edward and William JACOBY, and one sister, Mrs. Mildred
ROBERTSON. She wa a member of Christ P. E. Church, Clinton and Harrison
streets, the rector of which, the Rev. Walter D. JOHNSON, will conduct
funeral services at her late home at 3 p.m. tomorrow.  
Interment at Greenwood Cemetery.

Jennie LEE, born in Hamilton, Canada, in 1892, the daughter of Thomas
and Catherine O'BRIEN LEE, died yesterday at her home, 133 Cumberland
street.  She had been a resident of Brooklyn for 16 years, was educated
at Montreal, and was employed by the Sundheimer Silk Company, of
Manhattan.  She was a member of Sacred Heart R. C. Church, where a mass
of the requiem will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.  In addition
to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. E. KELSO and
Josephine LEE.  Interment will be made at Holy Cross Cemetery under
direction of William DUNIGAN & Son, of 201 Park avenue.

John Edward HUNTINGTON died Saturday at his home, 836 Seventieth street.
He was born in England forty-four years ago, came to this country
eighteen years ago, and was a master builder.  Funeral services will be
held at 8 o'clock tonight, the Rev. W. A. SWAN of St. John's Church
officiating.  Interment at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Greenwood Cemetery.  Mr.
Huntington is survived by a widow, Minnie, and eight children.  H. G.

Annie Ella SMITH, wife of Frank SMITH, died last Friday at her home, 149
Norman avenue.  She was 28 years old, and in addition to her husband is
survived by two sons, Francis and Elmer; her mother, two sisters, Mrs.
Ella CUSICK and Emma GAITER, and one brother, Alexander.  Under
direction of Charles MORTON, of 577 Onderdonk avenue, the funeral will
be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Elizabeth BROCKS, daughter of John and Elizabeth BROCKS, died last
Saturday at her home, 1497 Herkimer street.  She was born in Brooklyn
and is survived, in addition to her parents, by two sisters, Anna and
Madeline, and one brother, John.  Requiem mass will be celebrated in the
Church of Our Lady of Lourdes at 9 a.m. tomorrow.  Burial in St. John's

survived by a widow, Mary; one daughter, Helen; two brothers, Michael

Ferdinand LEISER, who died at his home, 1878 Harman street, was born in
Germany fifty-eight years ago and lived in Brooklyn for thirty-two
years.  He was a retired brass molder, formerly employed by Tiffany &
Co.  He was a member of St. Aloysius R. C. Church in Onderdonk avenue,
where requiem mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at  9 a.m.  Interment
at St. John's Cemetery.  He is survived by a widow, Carolina; three
sons, Ferdinand, Jr., who is in the Officer's Training Camp at
Louisville, Ky.; Christian John, who is in France, and George Edward,
and three daughters, Mrs. Marie HANNAN, Katherine and Elsie.  F.

John A. MAY, a member of Truck 4, Fire Department, at Camp Upton, died
last Wednesday at the Base Hospital there.  He was born in New York City
twenty-eight years ago, had been a resident of Brooklyn for twenty-one
years and is survived by his parents, John J. and Bessie M. MAY; two
sisters, Mrs. Frank NEWKIRK and Grace, and three brothers, Frank, Hugh
and Robert.  The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow from his late
home, 1415 Herkimer street, with requiem mass in the Church of Our Lady
of Lourdes.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, under direction of FEENEY
& Sons, of 1857 Broadway.

Ann GRATON, a resident of Greenfield for fifty-four years, died
yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. WHALEN, 1780 Ocean avenue.
She was a member of the church of St. Brendans.  The funeral will be
held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with interment at Calvary Cemetery under
direction of William FENTON, of 1844 Coney Island avenue.

John J. HIGGINS, of 51 Third street, attached to the U.S.S.
Pennsylvania, died last Monday at Fortress Monroe, Norfolk.  He was a
member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Holy Name Society and the
Catholic Club attached to the church.  He is survived by his father,
Martin; two brothers, Corporal Frank HIGGINS, at Camp Upton, and Harry,
at Portmough, Va., and one sister, Ellen.  The funeral will be held at 9
a.m. tomorrow from the home of his aunt, Mrs. John WHIDDEN, 9 First
street, thence to Star of the Sea Church.  Interment at Holy Cross
Cemetery under direction of P. J. DALEY & Sons, of 438 Hicks street.

Michael CLARKE, born in the Twelfth Ward, twenty-five years ago, died
yesterday in the Greenpoint Hospital.  He is survived by a widow, Mary;
two children, two sisters and one brother.  The funeral will be held at
3:00 p.m. Wednesday from his late home, 45 Diamond street.  Interment at
Holy Cross Cemetery.

Gertrude JOHNSON, 18 years old, died yesterday at her home, 1489
Nostrand avenue.  Requiem mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in
the Church of the Holy Cross, Church avenue and Prospect street.
Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Miss JOHNSON was born in Brooklyn and
is survived by her mother, Agnes JOHNSON.

Louise McNAMARA, died yesterday at her home, 79 Garfield place.  She was
born in Brooklyn sixteen years ago and is survived by her mother,
Elizabeth PLANT McNAMARA.  The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m.
Wednesday with a requiem mass at St. Francis Xavier Church.  Interment
at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Moses WOLF died Saturday at his home, 309 Troy avenue, from shock
following receipt of news of the death of his son, Jacob.  He had been
for forty-five years a wholesale butcher in Johnson avenue and is
survived by a widow, Fanny; five daughters, Lena, Carrie, Sarah, Bertha
and Emma, and three sons, Max, Ben and Phil.  The funeral will be held
at 10 a.m. tomorrow with interment at Washington Cemetery.

Otto Ernest SURACHKE, 40 years old, died Saturday at his home, 98 Harmen
street.  He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Anna A. HAACK.  Mr. SURACHKE
was a member of Cornerstone Lodge, No. 367, F. and A.M., and Junior
Order of American Mechanics, Kings County Council.  Mr. SURACHKE was
born in New York City and was in the braid manufacturing business.
Masonic services will be held at his late home tonight.  Interment at
Luther Cemetery at 2 p.m. tomorrow.

Dennis Joseph FITZGERALD, who died yesterday at his home, 399 Linden
street, was born in County Tipperary, Ireland, sixty-four years ago, had
been a resident of Brooklyn for forty-seven years, and is survived by a
widow, Ann;  one daughter, Mrs. Edward DONOHUE, and five sons, John F.,
William, Joseph, Robert and Edward.  The funeral will be held on
Wednesday with requiem mass in the Church of St. Brigid.  Burial in Holy
Cross Cemetery under directions of Fred ???, of ??? Irving avenue.

William SCHLUNTZ died yesterday at his home ??? Onderenk avenue.  He was
born in Germany 63 years ago....(rest too dark to read)

Anne HEALEY, 57 years old, died suddenly yesterday at her home, 1613
Voorhies avenue, Sheepshead Bay.  She was born in Milltown, County
Galway, Ireland, and was the widow of Patrick HEALEY.  She is survived
by two brothers, John and Dennis McGRATH; five daughters, Mrs. FENTON,
Mrs. O'NEILL, Mrs. DeLAVY, Mrs. LONDON and Constance HEALEY; six sons,
Edward, Dennis, Patrick, Peter, John and Matthew, and five
grandchildren.  Requiem mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. tomorrow at
the Church of St. Mark, Sheepshead Bay.

Thomas SMART, born in Brooklyn thirty years ago died last Friday at his
home, 302 Atlantic avenue.  He is survived by a widow, Ella MURPHY; one
daughter, Veronica; one son, John, and two brothers, Richard and John,
in France.  The funeral was held today with interment at Holy Cross
Cemetery under direction of Albert V. O'CONNELL, of 293 Smith street.

Isabelle CURTIS, formerly of Brooklyn, died last Wednesday at Miami,
Fla.  She is survived by her husband, Frank; two daughters, Ida and
Helen, and one brother, William Gilen(?), one sister, Josephina STANGER,
two step-sons, William and Edward JACOBS, and one step daughter, Mrs.
Mary WARD.  The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from the
chapel of James J. SHARP, 4901 Seventh avenue, thence to St. Agatha's R.
C. Church, where requiem mass will be celebrated.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery.

Alfred BREYER, born in Brooklyn 16 years ago, died Saturday at his home,
244 Irving avenue.  He is survived by his parents, Arthur and Emma
BREYER, and one brother.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow

Christiane ANDERSON, who died yesterday at her home, 353 Fifty-third
street, was born in Norway twenty-seven years ago, had been a resident
of Brooklyn for seven years and is survived by her husband, Ole
ANDERSEN; one daughter, Salvaige; five sisters and one brother.  The
funeral servivces will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. S. SIGMUND
officiating.  Interment  at Evergreen Cemetery under direction of Louis
w. THORGESEN, of 300 Court street.

Florence Marie TREWHELA, the daughter of the late Thomas Howard and
Florence TREWHELA, died at home, 78(?) Hall street.  She attended St.
Boniface Church School, and is survived by three brothers, Harry, Thomas
and Sylvester, and one sister, May.  The remains will be buried in St.
John's Cemetery at 2 p.m. tomorrow under direction of Frederick H. BUZ,
of 102 Reid avenue.

Augusta DOMBROWSKI, wife of Walter DOMBROWSKI and mother of Walter
DOMBROWSKI, Jr. and Mrs. Fannie MILLER died suddenly yesterday at her
home, 35 East Tenth street.  Funeral services will be conducted by the
Rev. Carl SCHUCHERD, of the Lafayette Avenue Lutheran Church this
evening at 8 o'clock.  The remains will be cremated at 2 p.m. tomorrow
at Fresh Pond.  The funeral arrangements are under direction of the
Oates Undertaking Establishment of 5207 Fifth avenue.

Henry J. TAGGART, 57 years old, of 285 Webster avenue, died yesterday.
He is survived by a widow, Minnie; eleven children, twelve grandchildren
and one great grandchild.  Mr. TAGGART was in the employ of Citizen's
National Bank and was formerly a member of the New York Fire Patrol and
the New York Underwriters.  The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral services of the Rev. Webster R. MAUL, who died Saturday at his
home in Laurelton, Queens, will be held tomorrow at 8 p.m.  The Rev.
Maurice AMBROSE ???? of Greene Avenue Church of which Rev. MAUL was a
member and had been pastor, will officiate.  Members of ??? F. Middleton
Post, No. ??? of which Mr. MAUL was chaplain for a number of years will
conduct the Grand ??? service.  The interment will be at Cape May Court House, N. J.
