GEORGE F. BRAY, a journeyman plumber, born in the Twelfth Ward forty-nine 
years ago, died Saturday at his home, No 94 Coffey street.  The funeral was held 
this morning, with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, following a requiem mass 
in Visitation Church, of which deceased was a life-long member.  He leaves his 
parents, three brothers, James, Stephen and Dennis, and two sisters, 
Catherine Bray and Mrs. Mary Ellen Ryan.

THERESA KRAUS
Theresa Kraus, widow of Michael Kraus, died Sunday of old age at her home, 
No. 18 Bogart street.  She was born in Germany, Aug. 20, seventy-five years ago, 
lived in the Eastern District thirty years, and was a member of St. Leonard's 
R. C. Church.  She was the mother of Charles, George and Adam Kraus. The 
Burial was made to-day in Holy Trinity Cemetery.

CATHERINE FLYNN
Catherine Flynn, widow of Michael G. Flynn, died Sunday from kidney trouble 
at her home, No. 73 Third Avenue, leaving a son, John J.; a daughter, Mrs. 
Stella A. Ward, and five grandchildren.  She was born in Dublin, Ireland, Sept. 
28, 1840, and had lived in the Third Ward for sixty years.  She was one of the 
oldest members of St. Augustine's Church.

CHRISTINE EILER
Christine Eiler, wife of Carl Eiler, died Saturday at her residence, No. 410 
Sumner Avenue.  The funeral was held from that address this morning, with 
interment in Lutheran Cemetery.  She was born in Brooklyn, April 29, twenty-seven 
years ago, and leaves her husband.

ELIZABETH MESSERSCHMIDT
Elizabeth Messerschmidt, wife of Carl Messerschmidt and daughter of John 
Borkel, died Sunday from heart failure at her home, No. 134 Grand avenue, Astoria. 
She was born in Manhattan, May 5, forty-four years ago, and leaves her 
father, husband, a son, John, and a brother, George.

GEORGE A. SMITH
George A. Smith, of No. 266 Classon avenue, died Saturday in St. Mary's 
Hospital from spinal myelitis.  Services were held last night in St. Mary's 
Episcopal Church, of which deceased was a communicant.  Mr. Smith was a retired 
manufacturer of storekeepers' garments.  He was born in Manhattan, forty-five years 
ago, belonged to Philander Council, R. A., and leaves his widow and three 
sisters.

SUSAN CONERTY
Susan Conerty, widow of John Conerty, a native of Ireland, 65 years old, died 
Sunday at her home, No. 763 Nostrand avenue.  She was a member of St. 
Gregory's R. C. church, and leaves three daughters, Mrs. John Clayton, Mrs. Annie 
Jurgensen, and Miss Ella Conerty, and three grandchildren.  The funeral was held 
today, with interment in Calvary Cemetery.

ARTHUR A. O'KEEFFE
Arthur Ambrose O'Keeffe, a retired mechanical engineer, who had latterly been 
interested in suburban real estate, died Sunday at his residence, No. 1003 
Hancock Street in his ninety-fifth year.  Death was due to shock resulting from 
a fall.  Although he had not been able to get outside of the house for some 
time, Mr. O'Keeffe possessed all his faculties, including good eyesight, and he 
took an active interest in events.  He was for many years associated with the 
late John Roach, the well-known ship builder, and had been a resident of 
Brooklyn for sixty years.  He helped in the organization of the Church of Our Lady 
of Good Counsel, where he worshipped at his death.  Mr. O'Keeffe lost his wife 
Mrs. Ellen Theresa Howard O'Keeffe, eighteen months ago.  She died in her 
ninetieth year.  Surviving deceased are three sons, William H., Joseph A. and 
Arthur B., two daughters, Margaret and Mary I.; four grandchildren and three 
great-grandchildren. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning with a mass of 
requiem at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.

WILLIAM R. MILLER
William R. Miller of No. 515 eighth street died Sunday, and the funeral was 
held this afternoon, with services at his home.  He was born in Chilicothe, 
Ohio, sixty-three years ago, was retired from business and had lived in Brooklyn 
for twenty years.  He leaves a widow, Mina R. Goldsmith Miller; a daughter 
Jean, and a sister, Mrs. Flora Sherwood, of Cherry Park, Ohio.

SOPHIE BECK
Sophie Beck (nee Frohmeyer) wife of David Beck,died Wednesday of dropsy at 
her home, No. 1278 Decatur street, after an illness of six months.  She was the 
daughter of Gottfried and Catherine Frohmeyer, and was born in the Sixteenth 
Ward Jan. 3, 1867.  She was an old member of Christ English Lutheran Church, 
Lafayette avenue. The funeral services to-day were conducted by Pastor C. H. 
Schwarzbach, of the Fifth German Presbyterian Church, and interment was made at 
Lutheran Cemetery.

VICTOR BRACHT
Victor Bracht, who two years ago retired from the cinemstograph business, 
which he conducted on upper Broadway, died Wednesday from rheumatism at his 
residence, No. 615 Hamburg avenue.  The funeral was held this afternoon with 
interment in Lutheran Cemetery.  Deceased was born in Germany Dec. 22, sixty-four 
years ago, lived in Brooklyn thirty years; and was well known in the Bushwick 
section.  He leaves a widow, Mary; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Potter and Mrs. 
Edward Gillette; five sons, Adam, Bernard, Victor, David and Arthur; ten 
grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.

CATHERINE F. BOYLE
       Catherine F. Boyle, nee Murtha, widow of Edward Boyle, died Thursday 
after an illness of five months at her home, at No. 398 Bedford Avenue, leaving 
three sons, Edward, John and David; a daughter, Mrs. August Agethen; a 
sister, Miss Margaret Murtha, and five grandchildren.  She was born in the county of 
Cavan, Ireland, sixty-six years ago, and lived in Brooklyn thirteen years.  
The funeral will be held to-morrow with interment in Calvary Cemetery.

CHARLES CLAYTON HUDSON
Charles Clayton Hudson, who died on Thursday last from a form of hasty 
consumption, will be buried to-morrow afternoon from his late residence, No. 320 
Marion street, services being conducted at 2:30 o'clock by the pastor of the 
Janes M. E. Church, the Rev. Dr. Robert Bagnell.  Interment will be in Evergreens 
Cemetery. Mr. Hudson, who was an expert cabinetmaker, was for twenty-seven 
years in the employ of the construction department in the Brooklyn Navy Yard.  He 
was born in Brooklyn  on Columbia Heights Aug. 17, forty-six years ago, the 
son of Thomas and Emma Hudson.  He leaves his widow, Anna; his father, two 
sons, Frederick and Edward; and two daughters, Marie and Dorothy.

IDA M. MONAGHAN
Ida M. Monaghan, nee Small, widow of James Monaghan, died Thursday from an 
operation at her home, No. 491 Railroad avenue.  The funeral will be held 
to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Interment being made in Evergreens Cemetery.  
Deceased was born in Brooklyn, Dec. 3, 1877, the daughter of Isaiah H. and 
Harriet Roberts Small.  She leaves her husband, a son, Willis; a daughter, Marie, 
and four brothers, Capt. Edson I. Small, U.S.A.; George H., William S. and 
Charles Small, of this borough.

ANDREW FRANK SWANY - Andrew Frank Swany, of No. 327a Madison street, died 
Thursday from a nervous breakdown. Funeral services will be conducted this 
evening at 8 o'clock with the Rev. Dr. Don C. Kite, assistant pastor of the Marcy 
Avenue Baptist Church, in charge. The interment will be made in Greenwood 
Cemetery. Mr. Swany, who was a tea and coffee merchant, had been in business for 
forty years in Burling Slip, Manhattan.  He was an old member of the Marcy Avenue 
Baptist congregtion and of Dauntless Council, Royal Arcanum; was born in 
lower Brooklyn March 18, sixty years ago, the son of the late Thomas Swany, a

BELLE A. ALEXANDRE
Miss Belle S. Alexandre, daughter of Simon and Sarah Alexandre, of No. 1072 
Park place, a lifelong member of the Temple Beth Elohim on Keap street, and who 
was born in the Eastern District Sept. 17 twenty-five years ago, died 
Thursday after a long illness.  The funeral will be held to-morrow afternoon at 2 
o'clock, with the Rev. Dr. Alexander Lyons officiating.  Interment will be made 
privately.  Besides her parents she leaves a brother and four sisters.

CHARLES SCHULTZ
Charles Schultz, for thirty years employed in the polishing department of 
Wilson Bohannan's patent lock factory, on Lexington avenue, died Thursday from 
bronchial trouble at his residence, No. 1386 Putnam avenue.  Funeral services 
will be held this evening at 8 o'clock with interment to-morrow at Lutheran 
Cemetery.  Deceased was born in Manhattan sixty years ago, the son of the late 
Carl and Clara Glumb Schultz, and leaves a widow, Hannah, and three brothers, 
Henry, of Montclair, N. J.; John and William.

MISS EMELIE MILDRED SCHNORR
Miss Emelie Mildred Schnorr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Schnorr, of No. 
114 Dean street, died Thursday, following an operation in the Holy Family 
Hospital.  She was born in Brooklyn Dec. 15, 1894, and was a designer for a 
Manhattan millinery house.  She was a member of St. Paul's R. C.Church, and leaves 
her parents and four sisters, Margaret, Leontine, Jeannette and Clemence.  The 
funeral will be held to-morrow afternoon, with interment at Holy Cross 
Cemetery.

DR. DANIEL ALOYSIUS SHAY
Dr. Daniel Aloysius Shay, of No. 554 Forty-eighth street, died Thursday from 
acute nephritis at Marlborough, N. Y. The funeral will be held on Monday 
morning, with a requiem mass at 10 o'clock in the Roman Catholic Church of Our 
Lady of Perpetual Help, Fifty-ninth street.  Dr. Shay, who had been practicing 
medicine in Bay Ridge for about ten years, was born in Manhattan Oct. 21 
thirty-eight years ago and was a graduate of the University of Baltimore.  The doctor 
was a warm personal friend of William A. Doyle, and until his marriage two 
years go was active in Democratic politics, the captain of his election district 
and governor of the William A. Doyle Association.  At his death he was a 
member of the Ninth Assembly District Democratic Club, Bay Ridge Camp, United 
Woodmen of America, and physician for the Order of Eagles.  He leaves his widow, a 
seven months' old son, two brothers, Dr. James J. Shay and Timothy A. Shay, 
and two sisters, Mrs. Mary A. DOLAN and Mrs. Catherine JORDAN.

MISS ELIZABETH GRAY MILLIGAN
Miss Elizabeth Gray Milligan, a life-long resident of the Eastern District, 
whose home was at No. 118 Taylor street, died on Thursday from pernicious 
anemia at the residence of her niece, Miss Jennie GIFFORD, at Danbury, Conn., where 
she had been visiting.  She was born sixty years ago, the daughter of the 
late Alexander and Jane Milligan; was for many years a member of the United 
Congregational Church, Lee avenue, the pastor of which Dr. Ulysses G. Warren, 
conducted funeral services last evening at 8 o'clock at the late home of the 
deceased.  Surviving are two sisters, Miss Jane Milligan and Mrs. Isabel BEARHOPE; 
two nieces, Miss GIFFORD and Mrs. W.A. ANDERSON, of Danbury, and a nephew, 
George Gifford of this borough. The interment is to be made in Cypress Hills 
Cemetery.

ADOLPH C. KOPP
Adolph C. Kopp, who was a  meat dealer on Saratoga avenue and lived at No. 
741 Knickerbocker avenue, died Thursday from heart disease.  The funeral is to 
be held this afternoon, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.  Deceased was 
born in Germany; lived in Brooklyn twenty years, and leaves a widow, Margaret; a 
son, and a sister, Mrs. Joseph JOHNSON.

JAMES BEACH
James Beach of No. 461 Shepherd avenue, a well known resident of the Cypress 
Hills section for twenty-five years and a printer of Manhattan, died Friday 
following an operation for cancer made in a Gates avenue sanitarium.  Funeral 
services are to be held to-night at 8 o'clock at his late home, and the burial 
Monday morning will be made in Calvary Cemetery.  Deceased was born in Chicago, 
Aug. 15, forty-nine years ago, and leaves his widow Amedia; a son, James and 
five daughters, Marion, Lillian, Mabel, Helen and Anna.

The father of deceased is a prominent member of the Seneca Club, the Democratic 
captain of his election district and connected with the New York Life 
Insurance Company.  The lad was attending the Wilson street school and was a member

two sisters, Mrs. William F. DENICE and Edna, and a brother, Lester.

ANNIE MILLER
Mrs. Annie Miller, nee JENNINGS, widow of John A. Miller, died Sunday from a 
stroke of paralysis at her home, No. 95 South Second street.  This morning a 
requiem mass was offered at the R. C. Church of Sts. Peter and Paul, of which 
she was a faithful member. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery.  Deceased 
was  born in Sligo County, Ireland, seventy-three years ago, and formerly lived 
many years in the Eighth Ward, Manhattan.  She leaves a son, Patrick, and 
three daughters, Mary, Elizabeth and Annie.

VIRGINIA HOBBY
Virginia Leary Hobby, wife of George R. Hobby, died yesterday from 
complications at her residence, No. 551 Fourth street.  The funeral will be held 
to-morrow with interment in Greenwood Cemetery.  Mrs. Hobby was born in Manhattan, 
November 1, forty-one years ago, the daughter of James and Annie LEARY.  She had 
lived in Brooklyn since her marriage fifteen years ago and was a communicant 
of St. John's Episcopal Church.  She leaves her mother, her husband, two sons 
George R. Jr., and Joseph; a brother, Warren, and three sisters, Marian, Annie 
and Mrs. Henrietta MERWIN.

FANNIE TERESA MANN
The funeral of Miss Fannie Teresa Mann, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary 
Mann, was held this morning from her late home, No. 102 South Elliott place, a 
requiem mass being offered in the R. C. Church of Our Lady of Mercy and 
burial being made in Holy Cross Cemetery.  Miss Mann was born in Baltimore and 
resided in Brooklyn thirty years.  She was the niece of Lady DE REVOIR, of 
Norfolk, England, and great-granddaughter of Admiral McDougall, of the English Navy.  
She attended St. John's Chapel, Clermont avenue.  Deceased leaves one sister, 
Miss Norma Mann.

ALICE STORM
Alice Webster Storm, widow of Samuel F. Storm, died Sunday from heart trouble 
after a long illness at her residence, No. 351 Tompkins avenue.  She was born 
in Manhattan in June, seventy-nine years ago, and prior to 1892 lived many 
years in Bridgeport, Conn.  She leaves a son Samuel; three daughters, Cora, Mrs. 
Loretta WILLIAMS of Boston, and Mrs. Alice BOYNTON, and twenty-nine 
grandchildren.  The services will be held to-night, with interment to-morrow in 
Evergreens Cemetery.

MARTIN QUINN
Martin Quinn, who died on Sunday from Bright's disease at the residence of 
his three nieces, the Misses Josephine, Ella and Catherine SHEA, No. 211 
Duffield street, where he had lived for twenty years, was in his early life a 
bookseller wth stores in the South, and for forty years was a member of Bricklayers' 
Union No. 1 of Brooklyn.  He learned the trade in his youth in the old 
country.  He was born in Clare County, Ireland, seventy-six years ago.  A requiem 
mass was offered this morning in the R. C. Church of St. Boniface, interment 
being made privately in Holy Cross Cemetery.

CATHERINE HYLAND
Catherine SHERIDAN Hyland, widow of Peter Hyland, a resident of the Ninth 
Ward for sixty years, and during that time a faithful member of the R. C. Church 
of St. Joseph and its women's societies, died Sunday from pneumonia at her 
residence, No. 548 Vanderbilt avenue.  She was born in the County of Westmeath, 
Ireland, sixty-seven years ago, and leaves three daughters and a sister.  The 
funeral will be held to-morrow with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
