German Newspapers

Karl J.R. Arndt and May E. Olson's
"The German Language Press of the Americas"
 (3rd revised and enlarged edition).
Note that some newspapers have no holdings reported in libraries.
This means that libraries surveyed by the authors chose not to
respond to their inquiries.
Most of the newspapers listed below were highly political in
nature. Some would run the gamut of Republican, Democrat, and
Independent ownership. Public libraries with interlibrary loan services
will help locate copies of these newspapers.

The Staats-Zeitung, the biggest and most popular German
language newspaper, is in this list.
