NINETEEN GRADUATES GOT THEIR DIPLOMAS
15 May 1907 Brooklyn Daily Union Young Trained Nurses Given Good Advice by Prof. McCARKLE at Exercises. The graduating exercises of the '07 class of trained nurses of the Long Island College Hospital, took place at the Polhemus Clinic last evening. The reception hall was decorated with Canadian and American flags and potted plants. The speaker of the evening, Prof. J.H. McCARKLE, greeted the young ladies as they were marched in by Miss SHARPE, superintendent of nurses. After admitting the oath he presented diplomas to each young graduate. The professor then delivered a very interesting address is which he gave some good advice to the young nurses as to the course they should pursue in their duties. Among the class of '07 are a great many Canadian girls and this fact accounted for the number of flags from the Dominion in the decorations. Many of the young women are from Brooklyn, while a few come from Manhattan and suburban points. The following are the graduates: Miss B.
