Graduation exercises of the Nazarene Nurses, who have 
completed the class work of a practical nursing course under 
the auspices of the Catholic Women's Association were held yesterday 
afternoon in St. Augusine's auditorium, Park place near Sixth Avenue. 
The Rev. Patrick J. ROGERS, pastor of St. Augustine's R.C. Church, 
presided and presented certificates to twenty-eight graduates.

The Rev. George H. KILLEEN, curate of St. Augustine's addressed the nurses, 
reminding them never to carry out the orders of unscrupulous physicians 
against the dictates of their own conscience.  He also stressed the 
importance of cheerfulness in the sick-room.

Frances DOBBY and Georgianna LAWSON, of the graduating class, delivered the 
greeting and the farewell, respectively.
 
Dr. Thomas F. NEVINS, of the faculty, spoke on "The Nazarene Nurse";  
Mrs. Marie MC CARTHY SULLIVAN read a letter from Miss Virginian S. O'CONNOR, 
committee chairman of the faculty, who was ill.  

Vocal solos by Agnes MALLOA WHITE interspersed the programme.

The following honors were awarded the graduates:
The Mgr. MC CARTY Medal for general excellence, to Nellie LOUTRIP MC GOVERN.  

The Mrs. Thomas E. MC CARTY Memorial Medal, for second in merit, to Florence CANAVAN.
The Rt. Rev. Mgr. James J. CORRIGAN Medal, for dietetics, to Cecile MC GLYNN.

The Miss Virginia S. O'CONNOR Medal for obstetrics, to Georgianna LAWSON, 
equal merit being shared by Elvira BASINI, 
Marie DOMINGUEZ, 
Susan KENNEDY, 
Nellie MC GOVERN and Helen RIESS.

The Miss Mary HUGHES Medal, for care of patient, to Jeanne MANSFIELD, with 
equal merit to Florence CANAVAN, 
Margaret GOLDING, 
Georgianna LAWSON, 
Susan KENNEDY, 
Nellie MC GOVERN and Margaret WEBSTER.

The Dr. Leo J. J. COMMISKEY Memorial Medal, for note book, to Monica RUETZEL.

The Mrs. Phillip A. BRENNAN Medal, for attendance 100 percent, to Catherine 
FOLEY, half the class sharing this merit.
