BENSONHURST SANITARIUM
The International Sunshine Society Branch for the Blind has leased the old Cropsey Mansion, Cropsey ave. foot of Bay 33d st. on terms made easy by Harmon Cropsey, who is president of the Bensonhurst Sanitarium. This property runs down to Gravesend Bay. The house is 100 years old, has 19 rooms. The home will have electric elevators and a solarium, making an artifical steamheat and full sunshine winter roof garden possible. There will also be a well equipped operating room and the 'Bensonhurst' people are raising an emergency fund to supply ambulance service. The reception Hospital at Coney Island is not in shape to give quick treatment to a victim of a major accident of Bath Beach section, and that the trip to Norwegian Hopital is a long one. The rest home is not a charity. RETURN to PROFESSIONAL MAIN
