Queens vital records
A few things to keep in mind:

1) Before 1898, NYC consisted of Manhattan and part of the Bronx. Queens
vital records 1880-1898 are in Albany
.
Some vital records for this period for towns and villages in what is now
Queens (College Point, Far Rockaway, Flushing, Jamaica, Newton, Richmond
Hill, Rockaway, Whitestone) and Long Island City, are also at the NYC
Municipal Archives.

2) "Recent" records for Queens are with the NYC Dept. of Health--births
1910 on, marriages 1938 on, deaths 1949 on.

3) Indexes to vital records held by NY State are available for searching in
three locations: the NY State Archives in Albany, the Rochester Public
Library, and the National Archives-Northeast Region in New York City. See
