The annual meeting and dinner of the American Irish Historical Society was
held at the Hotel Manhattan, Forty-second street, Manhattan, last night.

on March 17 he is expected to attend the dinner of the Friendly Sons of St.
Patrick, to be held at Delmonico's. the 250 diners gave three rousing cheers
for Roosevelt as they stood up to toast the "best President the United
States ever had."

The following officers were elected:
President, John D. CRIMMINS;
vice-president, Joseph T. LAWLESS, Norfolk, Va.;
secretary, T.H. MURRAY,Boston;

plain that he has no intention of resigning despite the storm of criticism
that has recently centered about him.

always taken care of myself, and I feel that I can give an accounting of
myself now."
