Ridgewood Times..November 2002:
On September 22, 1909, Richard E. WEBER
a real estate investor and heir to the Weber Herbal Tea business 
founded by his father, who was a medical doctor
purchased part of the John Moses DEBEVOISE farm in Glendale. He bought 14.366 
acres from the heirs, which was the western section of the 24-acre farm. 
Mr. Debevoise had passed away on April 15, 1909 at the age of 90.

Mr. Weber paid $107,026.70 ($7,450 per acre). Subsequently, he sub-divided 
the property into building lots and streets. In 1911, he filed Map #1167 
with the Clerk of Queens County, covering four square blocks. One of the 
streets he laid out was 
Debevoise Avenue (later renamed Dill Place, now 61st Street). 

Also laid out was St. Felix Avenue (60th Street) and 
Millwood Avenue (75th Avenue).

The DEBEVOISE heirs sub-divided the balance of the farm, which was the 
eastern section, into building lots and streets. On September 12, 1915, 
the heirs sold 64 building lots to Evelyn BARASCH, a real estate investor, 
for $80,750 (est. $8,500 per acre). 
These lots were on the north side of Cooper Avenue; 
on the north and south sides of Millwood Avenue (75th Avenue); 
on the east and west sides of Maple Avenue (64th Street); 
the east side of Yale Avenue (64th Place).
A few of the streets in Glendale have reverted back from a numbered 
street to their original names.
