Father McGOWAN Scores Parents for Neglect of Religious Education
   Rev. James J. McGOWAN, speaking at the graduating exercises of St.
Leonard’s Academy, held in the Academy of Music last night...

   "Unscrupulous parents have fostered godless education."  he said,
 "and as a result, youth sins on the least provocation. 
No enactment or amendment of law can legislate morals or control 
the mind or heart of man. Only religious education can save the situation 
that confronts modern youth."...

   Diplomas were awarded to eighty-six students. 
The Rev. Brother BERNARD, principal, officiated.
