Grads of Bklyn & Long Island at SYRACUSE University

SYRACUSE, June 11.
Thirty young men and women from Brooklyn and Long Island
were among the 803 graduates of Syracuse University this year, the largest
class ever sent out by the institution. Nineteen of them were from Brooklyn
and eleven from Long Island.
The Brooklynites included :
-Anna MUSTONEN, who graduated from the Medical College and took the
Hippocratic oath as a member of the healing profession.
Several of the Brooklyn boys were active in college affairs outside the
classroom and were honored upon their graduation.
-Joseph SACHTER, of 1554 Ocean avenue, bachelor of laws, was a member of the
Varsity debating team and vice-president of the debating union. He was
elected to the honorary legal fraternity Delta Sigma Rho and was president
during the current year. In addition he was elected to the Louis Marshall
honorary law society.
- Edward SHAPIRO of 725 St. Marks avenue was a member of the rifle team, took
high rank in his studies and was active in college journalism and dramatics.
In addition he was elected to the Louis Marshall Law Society.
-Both he and Sol KAPLAN, also of Brooklyn, combined their senior year’s work
with law and will continue as law students.
