Beta Kappa of Columbia University, N. Y., age 24.

SNYDER - Henrietta Augusta (nee HEEG), age 42 years, died in her home,
54 Fiske ave., Maspath, L. I., Monday evening at 7 o'clock.  Funeral

PETERSON, of Trinity Lutheran Church, Middle Village.  Interment will be
made at Lutheran Cemetery at Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  She is

Edward C. DEVENPORT, born in the Sixth Ward thirty-three years ago and a
resident of Bay Ridge eight years, died yesterday at his home, ???
Senator street.  He is survived by his widow, Jeanette, and a daughter,
Dorothy.  He had been a member of the police force eleven years.  The
funeral will be held next Thursday at 9:?0 a.m., with a requiem mass at
the Church of Our Lady of Angels, Fourth avenue and Seventy-fourth

Helen KRUSE, who died suddenly yesterday at her home, 593 Evergreen
avenue, was born in Germany eighty-three years ago and had been a
resident of Broolyn thirty-five years.  She is survived by a son,
William H., and two nieces, Antonia and Anna WELLING.  The funeral
services will be held tomorrow at 8 p.m. at John W. ROEMMELE's Funeral
Church, 1230 Bushwick avenue, with interment at Lutheran Cemetery.

Alma McDERMOTT LUX, a resident of the Bushwick section all her life,
died yesterday at her home,  882 Jefferson avenue.  She is survived by
her husband, Frank A.; her mother, Mrs. Mary F. McDERMOTT, and three
sisters, Annar, Mrs. Carl MAGDOLFE and Ethel.  She was a member of the
Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel,  where a requiem mass will be
celebrated next Thursday at 8 a.m.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery
under the direction of FEENEY & Son, of 1857 Broadway.

John R. SARENSEN, who died yesterday at his home,  109 Bay Tenth street,
had been connected with the New York Telephone Company as a lineman for
sixteen years.  He was a member of the Maccabees and the Bay View Yacht
club.  The funeral services will be held at 8 p.m.  Interment Thursday
at Evergreen Cemetery under direction of W.J.BRODERICH of ??2 Bay Eleventh street.

Colette GRAY WHALEN, 18 years old, died yesterday at her home, 47 south
Eighth street.  She was a stenographer, employed in the office of the
Lumbremen's Insurance Company for the past two years, and was a member
of the Blessed Virgin Sodality and the Sacred Heart League, connected
with the Epiphany R. C. Church in South Ninth street.  She is survived
by her parents, William and Isabel ROONEY WHALEN, and her grandmother,
Ann ROONEY.  The funeral will be held from her late home on Thursday at
9:30 a.m.; thence to Epiphany Church, where mass of requiem will be
celebrated.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under direction of John T.
SHEVLIN's Sons, of 529 Grand street.

Amy FLYNN, who died on Sunday at the home of her sister, Mrs. James
CROWE, 560 Fortieth street, was born in County Limerick, Ireland, and
had been a resident of Brooklyn for eight years.  She is survived by two
sisters, Mrs. James CROWE, and Mrs. Matthew DWYER.  The funeral will be
held tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. from the home of her sister; thence to St.
Michael's R. C. Church, where mass of requiem will be celebrated.
Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under direction of J. E. CLARKE, of 4409 Third avenue.

Henrietta A. SNYDER, who died yesterday at her home, 54 Flake avenue,
Maspeth, was born in Maspeth forty-two years ago, and had lived there
all her life.  She is survived by her husband, Frank, and a daughter,
Caroling LEFFEL.  Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 8 p.m., at
her late home, the Rev. D. PETERSON of the Trinity Lutheran Church of
Middle Village officiating.  Interment on Thursday at 3 p.m., at
Lutheran Cemetery, under direction of William NECKER, Inc., of 393a Gates avenue.

Thomas F. LYDEN, son of Michael and the late Mary LYDEN, died yesterday
at Peekskill of pneumonia.  He was of Irish extraction and was born in
Perth, Scotland, thirty-one years ago, and had been a resident of
Brooklyn most of his life.  He was a graduate of St. Ann's parochial
school and for the past ten years was connected with the
B. R. T.  He enlisted in the Navy last June, and after spending several
months at Pelham Bay was recently transferred to the Rifle Range at
Peekskill.  He was a member of the Laurence J. Cunningham Mutual Aid
Association, Brooklyn Council, No. 69  ??C., and the B.R.T. Employee
Benevolent Association.  He lived at 1?67 Bedford avenue and is survived
by two sisters, Mary and Mabel, and two brothers, John and Philip, the
latter with the United States Marines at Paris Island.  Funeral
arrangements are under direction of William McCLEAN, of 77 Hudson avenue.

George Henry BELL, one of the most prominent inventors and manufacturers
of instruments for the treatment of eye, ear, nose and throat troubles
in the country, died suddenly last Sunday at his home, 771 East
Eighteenth street.  He was born in Hammondsport, N. Y., sixty-five years
ago.  He took a scientific course at the Normal College at Cortland, N.
Y., graduating in 1874.  Soon afterward, he became interested in the
scientific treatment of eye, ear, nose and throat diseases.  He was the
inventor and manufacturer of warm vapor and throat sprays and other
instruments long in use.  He was a member of the Flatbush Presbyterian
Church, the All Souls' men's Club, the Brooklyn Rotary Club, and the
Fiske Terrace Property Owners' Association.  He is survived by his
widow, Harriet; a daughter, Mrs. William J. STEVENS, and two sisters,
Adelia BELL, and Mrs. Olive I. MOLLER, both of Yonkers, N. Y.  The
funeral services will be held tomorrow evening at his late home.

Kate E. WHITING, wife of James E. Whiting, died last Saturday at her
home, 3361 Fulton street, of pneumonia.  She was well known in Eastern
Star circles and was a former member of the Grand Lodge of the State of
New York.  The funeral services were held last evening at her late home
under the auspices of Ridgewood Chapter O.E.S. 
of which she was a former matron.

Anna BERGMULLER, who died last Saturday at her home, 2425 Putnam avenue,
was born in New York City, April 15, 1862.  She is survived by her
husband, George; a son, George, and two daughters, Edna and Catherine.
The funeral was held this morning with interment at Evergreen Cemetery.

Adolphine KNUTH, who died last Friday at her home, 1702 Ford street,
Sheepshead Bay, was born in Brooklyn in 1901.  She is survived by her
mother, Sarah; four brothers, Henry, Fred, Leroy and Jesse, and three
sisters, Iva, Margaret and Lillian.  Funeral services were held
yesterday at 2 p.m at her late home, the Rev. Dr. CUMMINGS of the
Sheepshead Bay Episcopal Church officiating.  Interment at Gravesend
Cemetery under the direction of John T. GALLAGHER, of 803 Rogers avenue

Sallie P. HARDING, widow of William H. HARDING, died last Saturday at
her home,  1233 Dean street.  She was born in St. Louis, Mo., and is
survived by a son, William H., and three grandchildren.  The funeral
services were held today, the Rev. Fran, M. TOWNLEY officiating.

John ARMSTRONG, Jr., who died last Sunday at his home, 726 Humboldt
street, was born in Brooklyn twenty-six years ago.  He is survived by
his parents, John and Lillian ARMSTRONG, and a brother, George.  The
funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at his late home, the
Rev. Dr. Dudley O. OSTERHELD of the Greenpoint Cornerstone Temple
officiating.  Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery under the direction of
Oscar A. BOCH, of 122 Meserole avenue.

Emma W. McKELWAY, wife of George McKELWAY, an electric engineer of
B.R.T., died last Sunday at her home at Westfield, N. J. she was born in
Florida, N. Y., thirty-five years ago and moved to Westfield six years
ago from Brooklyn.  She was a member of the Reformed church on the
Heights.  Mrs. McKELWAY is survived, beside her husband, by her parents,
William T. and Margaret JAYNE, a daughter, Margaret; three brothers,
Charles R. of Brooklyn, De Witt C. JAYNE, of Providence. R. I. and
William M. JAYNE of Southington, Conn, and four sisters, Mrs. Caroline
MILLER and Miss Mabel JAYNE, both of Brooklyn; Mrs. Arthur A. LEWIS of
Croton, N. Y., and Mrs. Chester B. KELLOG of Westfield, N. J.

Carl O. HULTBERG, who died last Sunday at the Swedish Augustana Home for
the Aged, 1680 Sixtieth street, was born in Sweden, Aug. 17, 1838, had
been a resident of Brooklyn for one year and of Ogdensburg, N. J., forty
years.  The funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the home,
the Rev. J. D. DARILALSON, of the Swedish Lutheran church, officiating.
Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.

Clara ENBERG died suddenly last Sunday at her home, 1841 Sixty-first
street.  She is survived by a daughter, Julia MEHRTENS, and two sons,
Edward H. and Louis F.  The funeral services will be conducted this
evening at 8 o'clock at her late home, the Rev. H. SIZER, officiating.
Interment tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction
of Nicholas E. DOLAN, of 6120  Twentieth avenue.

Louisa H. GAMMON, wife of William H. GAMMON, formerly of 588 Greene
avenue, died last Sunday at her home, East Pathogue.  The funeral
services will be held at her late home today at 3 p.m.  Interment at
Greenwood Cemetery tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. under the direction of Nicholas
E. DOLAN, of 6120 Twentieth avenue.

Margaret McCART, widow of John McCART, died yesterday at her home, 182
Willoughby street.  She is survived by two sons, William and Joseph, and
three daughters, Margaret, Agnes and Mrs. Mary BRENNAN.  She was a
member of the church of Our Lady of Mercy, where a requiem mass will be
celebrated next Thursday at 10 a.m.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery
under the direction of John J. HIGINS, of 163 Court street.

Dr. Donald  BRAISLIN, M. D., a resident physician of Taudeau, N. Y.,
died there last Saturday.  He was born in Brooklyn twenty-five years ago
and was a graduate of Adelphi Academy, Columbia University and the
College of Physicians and Surgeons of New York City.  He was a member of
St. Luke's P. E. Church, Clinton avenue, and is survived by his parents,
Dr. and Mrs. William BRAISLIN, of 425 Clinton avenue; two brothers, John
and Gordon S., and a sister, Alice.  The funeral services were held this
afternoon in St. Luke's P. E. Church with interment at Greenwood Cemetery.

James H. LANE, who died last Sunday at his home, 59 East Second street,
was born in Brooklyn thirty-three years ago, the son of the late Herman
and Mary LANE.  He was a member of the Church of the Holy Apostles and
is survived by his mother, Mary, and an aunt, Mrs. Sarah RUSEN.  The
funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. the Rev. George F.
BANBACH, of the Church of the Holy Apostles, officiating.  Interment at
Greenwood Ceme. under the direction of Ferdinand E. SELLE,of 684 Fifth avenue.

Rebecca DOSCHER, widow of Charles H. DOSCHER, died last Sunday at her
home, 190 Dean street.  She was born in Germany ninety-one years ago and
had been a resident of Brooklyn forty years.  She is survived by two
sons, Charles and John, and two daughters, Herminia and Anna.  The
funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at her late home, with
interment at Greenwood Cemetery.

Julia NIEDRICH died suddenly Saturday at her home, 940 Fortieth street.
She was born in Germany forty-nine years ago and came here thirty years
ago.  She was a member of the church Building Association connected with
the Church of St. Catherine of Alexandria, where requiem mass will be
celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m.  She is survived by her husband,
August; three sons, John, August, Jr. and Fred; three daughters,
Augusta, Julia and Elizabeth; her parents and one brother, Julius KLOSS.
Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under direction of S. MENDENHALL, of
933 Thirty-ninth street.

Josephine CAMPBELL, who died suddenly Sunday at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. William J. HAMILTON, 494 Tenth street, was born in Mount
Vernon sixty-three years ago.  She had been a resident of Brooklyn for
fifteen years and is survived by her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth SEARING, who
is 97 years old, and two daughters, Mrs. W. J. HAMILTON, of Brooklyn,
and Mrs. Richard DICKINSON, of Mount Vernon.  The funeral services will
be held this evening at the home of her daughter, with interment
tomorrow at Mount Vernon, N. Y.

Henry S. WOODMAN, prominent in the work of the South Bushwick Reformed
Church and for fifty years connected with C. H. Tiebout & Son of Grand
street, Brooklyn died last Friday at his home, 608 Van Buren street.  He
was presiding elder of the South Bushwick Church, of which he was a
member for thirty years and was for a number of years assistant
superintendent of the Sunday school and treasurer of the church and of
the Sunday school.  He was also long a member of Ridgewood Council

Henry Talbot FLAGLER, died yesterday at his home, 76 Hampton street.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. tomorrow.  Interment at Cedar
Grove Cemetery Thursday morning.  He is survived by a widow, Lulu REID
FLAGLER, and one daughter, Hilda REID FLAGLER.  He was an active worker
in the Elmhurst M. E. church and the Men's Christian and Civic League of
Elmhurst.  He was a veteran of the Seventy-first Infantry, N. Y. N. G.,
holding a full and honorable discharge for five years' service.  He was
a member of the woolen firm of Hug, Fingler & Co., 45 East Seventeenth
street, Manhattan.

John WILHELM, died Saturday at his home, 114 Kingsland avenue.  He was
born in Germany eighty-two years ago and is survived by his widow,
Carolina; one son, Fred; one daughter,Mrs. Carrie MOELLER, and six
grandchildren.  He was a member of the Germanic Sick and Death Benefit
Society and the Hesslscher Sick and Death Benefit Society.  The funeral

held at 2 p.m. Thursday, with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under

Henrietta C. COSS, who died Saturday of pneumonia, was 24 years old and
the wife of Richard A. COSS.  She was a member of St. Joseph's R. C.
Church, and is survived in addition to her husband by one son, Richard,
Jr., and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John SHERL.  The funeral was held
from her late home, 213 Sterling place, this morning, thence to St.

Mary MORAN, widow of Lawrence J. MORAN, died suddenly yesterday at her
home, 266 Franklin avenue.  She was born in Brooklyn, a daughter of
Christopher and Bridget KILLEEN SWEETMAN, and was a member of St.
Patrick's R. C. Church where mass of requiem will be celebrated on
Friday at 10 a.m.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.  Mrs. MORAN is
survived by two sons, Richard and Lawrence, and three daughters, Mrs.

Bridget O'GRADY, sister of George and the late Randall O'GRADY, died on
Monday.  She was born in Ireland fifty years ago, had been a resident of
Brooklyn for forty years and is survived in addition to her brother,
George, by three nieces, Anna May, Nellie, and Catherine O'GRADY.  The

Charles WILLIAMS died yesterday.  He was born in Finland, had lived in
the Sixth Ward for fifty years, and was employed as a captain by the
Boyer & Son Lighterage Co., and is survived by one son, Charles, and one

Elizabeth KRAUS, who died at her home, 1486 DeKalb avenue, was born in
the Eastern District forty years ago and was a member of St. Leonard's

Walter BONN, for twenty years a member of the Amalgated Societies of
Engineers, died yesterday at his home, 70 Second place.  He was born in

Iron Works, and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.  He is survived

Ernst JANSSEN, a standard bearer of the Ernst JANSSEN Democratic Club of
the Thirteenth election district of the Fourteenth Assembly District,
died last night at his home, 7 Stagg street.  JANSSEN was on of the most
popular figures in the Eastern District.  He was 57 years old and came
here from Germany thirty years ago.  He leaves his wife, Maria; a
daughter, Mrs. O. FREIMUTH, and two sons, Edward and Charles.  Janssen
was a member of the Charles F. Smith Lodge, No. 348, I. O. O.F.  Funeral
arrangements have not yet been completed.

Leo D. MULLEN of the United States Navy died yesterday at the Pelham Bay
Training Station of pneumonia.  He was born in Brooklyn twenty years
ago, the son of Frances and the late Thomas MULLEN.  He was a member of
St. Francis Xavier R. C. Church, Sixth avenue and Carroll street; the
Xavier Lyceum, and the Holy Name Society connected with that church.  He
is survived besides his mother by three brothers and four sisters.  The

Frances M. STEHLIN, wife of Frank STEHLIN, died Monday at her home, 76

David Henry CAMPBELL, who died on Monday after a short illness at his

survived by his wife, Ella; a son, Donald, and a sister, Olivia CLEARY.

Marguerite M. BROWN, former soprano soloist of the Greene Avenue
Presbyterian Church, and the wife of Lester L. Brown, died on Monday at
her home in Harrison, N. J.  She was born in the Bushwick section of
Brooklyn twenty-five years ago, and lived there until two years ago,
when she moved to Harrison.  She was formerly identified with the work
of the Bushwick Avenue Reformed Church.

Mary E. MEAGHER, who died on Tuesday at her home,  81 Columbia street,
was born in the First Ward, New York City, and had been a resident of
Brooklyn for the past twenty-five years.  She was a member of the Rosary
and Sacred Heart societies connected with St. Peter's R. C. Church.  She
is survived by her husband, Phillip; two sons, Thomas and James; and two

Major Henry Clay EVANS of the old Duquesne Grays of Pittsburgh, Pa., who
took part in the Pittsburgh Plots of 1877, died yesterday at his home,
50 Montgomery place.  He was born in Pittsburgh sixty-eight years ago
and had been a resident of New York City for thirty-four years.  He was
the New York agent of the Lorraine Steel Company, a subsidiary company
of the United States Steel Corporation, and was a member of the
Engineers' Club of Boston, the Lyres Club of New York, the Railroad Club
of New York,  the Crescent Club of Brooklyn, and the Street Railway
Association.  He is survived by his wife, Grace WHITING; two sons,
Ensign Henry Clay EVANS, Jr., U.S.N. and Edward Whiting EVANS, and a
daughter, Mrs. Amides T. HAVILAND.  The funeral services will be held

yesterday at his home, 159 Tillary St., of pneumonia.  He was born in
Brooklyn and was a life member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church.  He is
survived by his widow, Margaret, a sister, Katherine, and a brother,

Jennie ABBATE, daughter of Alfred and Annie SAVARESE ABBATE, died
yesterday at her home, 368 Van Brunt St.  She was born in Brooklyn 24

Private James P. KEELY, of Service Company No. 1, M. O. T. C., died on

Henry BUTLER, proprietor of the Snow Flake Hand Laundry for the past 6
years died Tuesday at his home, 473 Tompkins Ave.  He was born in
Brooklyn 44 years ago and was a member of Tyran Lodge, 618 F. and A. M.
He is survived by his wife, Amelia, a son, Clinton H. and a brother
Clinton T.  The funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8 p.m. at
his late home with interment on Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery.

Dr. Charles B. RILEY, for a number of years, a pharmacist in the old
town of Gravesend, died yesterday at his home, 122 5th Ave., in his 49th
year, after a lingering illness.  He retired from business 2 years ago
and is survived by his wife, Margaret, and a daughter, Ruth.  The

Margaret M. GERAGHTY, daughter of Hughes and Margaret MAHONEY GERAGHTY,

John J. CAVANAUGH, 37 years old, died today of pneumonia at his home,

Arthur A. GILLEN, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. GILLEN, of 704 Eighth
Ave, died yesterday at Syracuse where he was visiting relatives.  He was
born in Brooklyn 22 years ago and was a graduate of St. Mary Star of the
Sea school and attended Commercial High School.  He was known as a
writer of ability and was the inventor of several devices.  He is
survived by his parents, William J. and Eloise GREENE GILLEN, 2
brothers, T. J. GILLEN, a lawyer, and William J. GILLEN, Jr., in the

Rose PENNY, born in New Britain, Conn., died yesterday at her home, 349

Joseph W. SCOTT, age 50, a former resident of Brooklyn, died last night
at his home, 32 Park Ave., Caldwell, N. J.  He was in the hardware
business at 80 Warren St., Manhattan.  He came to Caldwell 3 years ago.
His widow, 2 sons, Joseph and Leslie, and one daughter, Gladys survive
him.  Funeral services will be held in the home Sunday night and burial
will be made in Woodland Cemetery, Monday morning.

John W. SCHARFF, who died suddenly on Tuesday in the Queensboro

Ellen B. BAYLISS, whose death occurred yesterday at her home, Prospect
Terrace, Tenatly, N. J. was the widow of the late President Benjamin H.
BAYLISS, of the Brooklyn Sunday School Union and of the Berkeley
Institute, for many years superintendent of the Sunday School of the
Memorial Presbyterian Church at 7th Ave. and St. John's Pl., one of the
best know residents of the Park Slope and mother of the late Municipal
Court Justice and ex-Assemblyman, Lucien S. BAYLISS, of Harold H.
BAYLISS, and a married daughter.  The BAYLISS home was for many years at
129 Park Pl., and the family was one of the best known and most active
in educational, religious and social life of the Park Slope.  Mrs.
BAYLISS was the daughter of the late Judge Lucien' BIRDSEYE, and a
sister of Clarence F. BIRDSEYE, of the New York Bar.  The elder BAYLISS
was 14 years, until his death in 1897, a member of the Executive Council
of the Psi Upsilon Faternity, of which his elder son and his grandson,
Ralph B. ????, of the Wesleyan University, and his younger son, of the
New York University Chapter, were also members.  Mrs. BAYLISS' funeral
will be held at Tenatly tomorrow morning.

Mary DREWRY, who died yesterday at her home, 521 Eastern Parkway, was
born in Albany, 67 years ago and had been a resident of Brooklyn 31
years.  She is survived by 4 daughters, Lillian, Jeffry, Roberta and
Mrs. Julia MERRITT.  The funeral will be held next Saturday at 10 a.m.
with a requiem mass at St. Ignatius R. C. Church.  Interment of Holy

William J. McGARRY, who died yesterday at his home, 1012 East Twelfth
St. was born in the Sixth Ward, thirty-four years ago and was employed
for the past eight years by the Texas Oil Company.  He was educated at
S. Stephen's Parochial School.  He is survived by his widow, Nellie
STACKPOLE McGRARRY; his father, William; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas GREENE
and nellie McGARRY, and a brother, Henry.  The funeral will be held next

Ellen A. McCUE, wife of William McCUE, died Tuesday.  She was born in
Brooklyn in 1890 and in addition to her husband, is survived by three

sister, Alice, and two brothers, Timothy, who is in the Aviation Squad
in

Harry SMITH died last Sunday in the Lincoln Hospital, Manhattan.  He was
born in Brooklyn thirty-eight years ago and was a member of St. Mary's
R. C. Church.  He is survived by his widow, Jennie; one son, James; one
daughter, Jeanet; one sister, Irene SMITH, and one brother, James
Jefferson SMITH, now in France.  The funeral was held today from John T.

John F. BRADLEY, 54, a former Teamster and a member of St. Patrick's R.
C. Church, died Tuesday in Kings County Hospital.  He was born in
Ireland 54 years ago, came here in 1878 and is survived by a widow, Mary
and one sister, Mrs. Annie HAND.  The funeral was held today with burial

Marion E. BOUCHER, wife of Joseph BOUCHER, died yesterday at her home,

was born in New York City and had been a resident of Brooklyn for 45

Patriotic Daughters of America, Camp No. 7  She is survived by her
husband, Charles, a daughter, Henrietta, three sons, George, of the 21st
Battalion, Camp Syracuse, Richard, a naval aviator in France and
Laurence.  The funeral will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. with requiem

David RICHMOND, who died Tuesday at his home, 36 York St., was born in
Scotland 38 years ago and had lived there for 20 years.  He was the son

Sophia F. E. WIEBOLDT, died yesterday at her home, 82 Newell St.  She
was born in Germany 68 years ago and is survived by her husband, Marcus,

3 daughters, Mrs. Frieda ALBERS, Mrs. Minnie FALTINGS, and Mrs. Tillie

Nettie WARRENDEN, who died yesterday at her home, 532 108th St.,
Richmond Hill, was born in Brooklyn 16 years ago and is survived by her

Alfred SEAL, born in England 40 years ago, the son of the late George
and Emily PHILADELPHIA SEAL, died on Tuesday evening of pneumonia at his
home, 102 Wyona St., after a brief illness.  He had been in the painting
and decorating business in the East New York section for the past 10
years, was a member of the East New York Board of Trade, the Holy Name
Society and St. Malachy's R. C. Church, where a solemn mass of requiem
will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.  He is survived by his wife, Mary DUFFY
SEAL, one son, John, three sisters and two brothers.  Interment at St.

Daniel O'LEARY.  Services were held in the Chapel of Holy Cross Cemetery
at 3 p.m. today for Daniel O'LEARY, who was born in England 56 years
ago, the son of the late John and Emma  WESTON O'LEARY, who died at his
home in Manhattan after a brief illness of pneumonia on Tuesday morning.
He had been for the greater part of his life a resident of Brooklyn and
member of Sacred Heart R. C. Church and for the past few years a member
of the Carmelite R. C. Church, Manhattan.  He was in the trucking and
express business in Manhattan and the Bronx.  He is survived by one
sister.  Interment will be made at Holy Cross Cemetery, under the
direction of William DUNIGAN & Son, 201 Park Ave.

William Roger  DIXON, U. S. N., born in Brooklyn June 16, 1900, the son
of Joseph DIXON, a retired boilermaker of the U. S. N. and veteran of
the Spanish-American War, and Margaret GILL DIXON, died Wednesday
morning in Pelham Base Hospital, after a brief illness of pneumonia.  He
was a graduate of the public schools and, previous to his enlisting, was
connected with the staff of the New York Sun.  He was a life-long member
of Sacred Heart R. C. Church, where a solemn requiem mass will be
celebrate at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.  In addition to his parents, he is
survived by one brother, Chief Quartermaster Joseph DIXON, Jr. U. S. N.

Charles COX, died yesterday at his home, 77 North Portland Ave.  He was
born in County Roscommon, Ireland, was a member of the Sacred Heart

survived by a widow Mary DUDLEY, one son, Charles, Jr., and one

Lewis Emil SCHMUTZ, Jr., a florist, died Tuesday at his home, 444
Clarkson St.  He was born in Brooklyn 44 years ago and was a member of
Midwood Council, R.A.: the Foresters and the Fraternity Aid Union.  He
is survived by a widow, Martha PELTZ, two daughters, Eloise and Marth,

Lieut.William HENEL, Jr., an aviator stationed at Garden City, died
yesterday at his home, 1114 Putnam Ave., of pneumonia.  He was 24 years

A. M. and the Brooklyn Eastern District Turn Verein.  He is survived by

Annie HUNT LEONARD, widow of Bernard LEONARD, died yesterday at the home

the Shannon, County Leitrim, Ireland and had been a resident of Brooklyn
for six years.  She is survived, besides her father, Dominic, in
Ireland, by five sisters, Margaret and Bessie HUNT, Mrs. John LAVIN,
Mrs. Katherine JONES, and Mrs. Thomas McDERMOTT, and four brothers,
John, Thaddeus, Michael and Dominic HUNT.  The funeral will be held on

Magdalina HORNUNG, who died on Monday evening, after a long and painful
illness, was the widow of Louis HORNUNG, who for fifty-five years
conducted a baking business at 1801 Fulton St.  Mrs. HORNUNG was born in
Germany, July 4, 1836, daughter of the late Joseph and Meira GURLINO.
She came to the United States about 65 years ago and settled in
Brooklyn.  She was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

Margaret F. DAVIDSON, died yesterday at her home, 1110 Lafayette Ave.
She was born in Brooklyn, where she spent all her life.  She is survived
by a daughter, Mabel and two sons, George J. and William J., who is in
France.  Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. with
requiem mass at St. John the Baptist Church, Lewis and Willoughby Aves.
Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery under direction of Charles B. MARTIN,

Anna LONGWORTH, born in Brooklyn, Feb. 20th, 1917, died yesterday at her
home, 71 Duffield St.  She is survived by her parents Joseph and
Katherine LONGWORTH, a sister, Margaret and a brother, Joseph.  The
funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. with interment at Holy Cross
Cemetery under direction of DOYLE & KENNY of 197 Bridge St.

Lawrence J. HOGAN, 27 years old, died of pneumonia yesterday at his
home, 658 Sixth Ave.  He was born in Brooklyn, March 10th, 1891 and had
been in the United States Navy for the past four years, re-enlisting
last May, after his first enlistment time had expired.  He was a member
of the Holy Name Society.  He is survived by his parents, John and Mary
HOGAN, four brothers, John and William, who are in the service in
France, Joseph and Francis, and two sisters, Mrs. Walter LANE and Helen
HOGAN.  Funeral services will be held at the Church of St. John the
Evangelist on Saturday at 10 a.m.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Walter BROWN, who died last Tuesday at his home, 70 Second Pl. was born
in England 41 years ago and had been a resident of Brooklyn 21 years.
He was, for twenty years, a member of the Amalgamated Societies of
Engineers and was employed as a machinist by the Atlantic Basin Iron
Works.  He was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church and is survived
by a widow, Mary, and a daughter, Ethel.  Funeral services will be held
tonight at 8 o'clock at his late home, the Rev. Dr. Walter De Forest
JOHNSON of Christ P. E. Church officiating.  Interment tomorrow at 2
p.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery under the direction of William J. HURLEY,
of 195 Court St.

Frederick W. KLUEFER, a son of Hugo KLUEFER, died yesterday at his home,
22 Judge street, in his twentieth year.  The young man has three
brothers in the service, William and John in France and Hugo in a
Southern camp.  A fourth brother is Gustav.  There is also one sister,
Marie KLUEFER.  The funeral will be held Saturday, with interment at
Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Charles ROEHLING, who was born in Brooklyn, died yesterday in his
twenty-ninth year.  He is survived by his mother and four brothers,
Edward, Albert, William, Frederick, and two sisters, Mrs. KLEINLEIN and
Mrs. TIM?NIS.  Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at his
late home, ?8 Tompkins Pl, Glendale.  Interment at Lutheran Cemetery

Julia HEFFERNAN, died Tuesday in St. Peter's Hospital.  She was born in
Wisconsin and had been a resident of Brooklyn for thirty years.  The

tomorrow; thence to the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, where
requiem mass will be celebrated.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under

Edith LEWIS, a nurse in the Methodist Episcopal Hospital, died there
last Monday of pneumonia.  She was born in Barbados, West Indies, twenty
years ago and had been a resident of Brooklyn the past two months.  She
is survived by her parents, Joseph and Helen LEWIS, of the West Indies;
three brothers, two sisters and her uncle, Edward PYLE, with whom she
lived at 1352 Seventy-ninth St.

Ernst JANSSEN, a cafe keeper for thirty years located in the Eastern
District, died yesterday at the Midwood Sanitarium in his fifty-eighth
year.  He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and was past
treasurer of the Charles T. SCMITT Lodge, No. 348, I. O. O. F.  He is
survived by his widow, Marie; one daughter, Mrs. Otto FRELMUTH; two sons
Edward and Charles, and three grandchildren, Roy and Edward JANSSEN and
Ernst FRELMUTH.  Funeral services will be held at his late home, 9 Stagg
St., at 2 p.m., the Rev. Dr. SOMERS officiating.  Burial in Lutheran

John Henry HOOPS, who died at his home, 91 North Henry St., in his
thirty-second year, was born in Brooklyn, was in the provision business
with his father, Henry HOOPS, and was a member of Herder Lodge, F. and
A. M.  He is survived by a widow, Caroline; his father, two brothers,
George, stationed at Camp Hancock, Georgia, and Charles, and three
sisters, Emily, Mrs.August BINDRIM and Mrs. George MONSEES.  Funeral

Margaret BARRY, mother of Assistant District Attorney James F. BARRY, of
Queens, died last Tuesday at her home, 323 Hoyt Ave., Astoria.  She was
born in Ireland seventy-eight years ago and had been a resident of this
country seventy years.  She is survived by her sons, James F. and
Thomas, and two daughters, Mrs. MOORE, wife of Dr. MOORE, formerly
sanitary superintendent of Queens County, and Mary BARRY.  The funeral
will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. with a requiem mass at the Church of
Our Lady of Mount Carmel.  Interment at Calvary Cemetery.

Camilla HOPKINS, who died last Tuesday at her home, 1640 East
Twenty-first St., after a short illness, was born in Middletown, N. Y.,
24 years ago.  She had been a resident of Brooklyn four years and was
employed in the welfare department of the American Sugar Refining
Company.  She was a member of the Baptist Temple and president of the
Young Women's Bible Class.  She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
E. T. HOPKINS.  The funeral services will be held this evening at 8
o'clock at her late home with interment tomorrow morning at Evergreen
Cemetery.

Catherine KNIGHT, who died Tuesday, was the widow of Patrick KNIGHT.
She was born in Ireland sixty-six years ago, had lived here for
thirty-seven years, and is survived by three grandchildren.  The funeral
will be held from her late home, 1863 Atlantic Ave., at 2:30 p.m.

Richard J. FORKER died yesterday at his home, 1336 Park Place.  He was
born in Brooklyn thirty-two years ago and was a parishioner of St.
Matthew's Church.  For the past three years he was chancellor of Parkway
Council, 1433, Knight of Columbus.  He is survived by a widow, Janet;
two daughters, Dorothy and Evelyn; his father and mother, two sisters,
Helen and Catherine, and four brothers, Thomas S., Edward, Howard and
Theodore.  Mass of requiem will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St.
Matthew's Church, Eastern Parkway and Utica Ave.   Interment at Calvary

Helen J. RYAN, daughter of Edward and Ellen OSBERRY RYAN, died
yesterday.  The funeral will be held from her late home, 2528 Albemarie
Rd., on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., thence to the Holy Cross Church, where a
mass of requiem will be celebrated.  She is survived by her parents, two
sisters, Mrs. Henry HOLST and Margaret, a teacher in Public School 89,
and two brothers, Edward and Christopher, who is in the United States

Jerome WARD, a salesman,  45 years old, died yesterday.  One sister,

Otto P. KROEBEL,of 2012 Bleecker St., a steamfitter, died Tuesday.  He
was born in Jersey City in 1888 and is survived by a widow, Elizabeth;

Joseph KIRSCHNER, a member of the U. S. N. R. F., died suddenly on Monday at

Private Charles W. SANDEL, who died on Wednesday at Syracuse, N. Y., was
born in Germany twenty-nine years ago and had been a resident of Brooklyn

before enlisting last July, a broker employed by the Boissevine Company of
Manhattan, and is survived by his mother, Elizabeth; four sisters and four

Frederick W. SHERMAN, a retired real estate broker and a veteran of the
Civil War, died on Wednesday at Belle Harbor, N. Y.  He was born in New York
City on August 21, 18?6, and was a member of the Ramblersville Volunteer
Fire
Department.  He is survived by his widow, two sons, a daughter and two

Margaret JOHNSTON, born in Brooklyn seven years ago, the daughter of George
and Margaret Curtis JOHNSTON, died yesterday at the home of her parents, 456

Honoria GORHAM, widow of James GORHAM, died on Wednesday at her home, 320

Otto KEEHNER, who died on Wednesday at the Wycoff Heights Hospital of

Fifty-third Pioneer Infantry, and is survived by his father George, Jr.; his
mother, Matilda; three brothers and three sisters.  The funeral will be held

James J. KILLEN, attached to the Motorcycle Squad, Brooklyn Police
Headquarters, died yesterday at his home, 1248 Prospect avenue.  He was

Hans Christian VOIGT, a mason, of 548 Evergreen avenue, died Wednesday of
pneumonia at his home.  He was born in Germany in 1858, had lived here for
twenty-seven years and is survived by a widow, Christine, and five children,
John, William, Martha, Bertha and Elizabeth.  The remains will be buried in
Linden Hill Cemetery at 2 p.m. tomorrow after services at with the Rev. Mr.
FREY will officiate.

Augusta VOGEL, wife of Charles VOGEL, of 134 Third avenue, died yesterday.
She was 53 years old and in addition to her husband is survived by one son,
Jack, and one daughter, Kathleen.  The funeral will be held at 2 p.m.
Sunday, and under the direction of R. F. TIMMS, of 560 Warren street, the
remains will be buried in Greenwood Cemetery.

Francis Simon REILLY, U. S. N., born in Brooklyn twenty-eight years ago, the
son of Mark and Lillie BRESLIN REILLY, died at the Navy Base Hospital in
Chelsea, Mass., on Wednesday of pneumonia.  He was a member of the Sacred
Heart R. C. Church, where mass of requiem will be celebrated at 8:30 a.m.
tomorrow.  He was a graduate of Public School 12, had served in the Third
Field Artillery at the Mexican border, and his last enlistment was as
assistant water tender in the Submarine Division.  In addition to his
parents, of 196 Park avenue, he is survived by one sister.  Interment will

Mae R. McMULLEN, who died Wednesday after a short illness at her home, 246
East Eighth street, was born in New York City and had been a resident of
Brooklyn most of her life.  She is survived by her husband, Harry; a
brother, John R. ROSE, and two nephews.  The funeral will be held tomorrow

Amanda M. MARTIN, who died Wednesday at her home, 1086 Bushwick avenue, was
born in New York City eighty-three years ago, and had been a resident of
Brooklyn for fifty-five years.  She was one of the oldest members of the
South Bushwick Reformed Church and was a charter member of the Women's
Auxiliary of the Bushwick Hospital.  She is survived by two sons, William F.
and Clarence A.; two daughters, Lettie A. and Margaret L., and three
grandsons.  The funeral services will be held this evening at 8:30 o'clock
at her late home, with interment private tomorrow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Samuel J. WELLER, formerly Brooklyn high school football star, died
yesterday at his home, 552 Second Street.  He was born in New York City
twenty-two years ago, and had been a resident of Brooklyn all his life.  He
was at the time of the outbreak of the war a student at Rutledge College,
and after several unsuccessful attempts to enter the Army and the Navy, he
secured a position at war work.  He was a graduate of Adelphi Academy, where
he was the star of the football team.  He had also attended Manual Training
High School, where he was also the star.  He is survived by his parents,
Joseph and Esther WELLER; two sisters, Cecilia and Betty, and a brother,
Roth.  The funeral was held today at 11 a.m. from his late home.

Thomas P. WALSH, son of Bridget and the late Patrick WALSH, died on
Thursday.  The funeral will take place from his late home, at 324A Lexington
avenue, on Monday at 9 a.m.  At St. Ambrose Church, DeKalb and Tompkins
avenues, a solemn requiem mass will be celebrated.  He is survived by four
sisters, Sister Mary ROCH, Mary, Catherine and Delia, and by five brothers,

Thomas O'CONNELL, who died yesterday of pneumonia at his home, 2 East
Thirty-eighth street, Flatbush, was born in Hamilton, N. Y., thirty-eight
years ago and had been connected with the New York Police Department for
twelve years being attached to the headquarters squad of the Bureau of
Information.  He was a member of the Beethoven Benevolent Association and is
survived by his widow, May; two sons, Walter and Joseph; two daughters, Rita

Richard F. MONAHAN died yesterday.  He was born in the Sixth Ward, was a
parishioner of St. Peter's Church for a number of years and was engaged in
the cooperage business in Pine street, Brooklyn.  He is survived by a widow,
Bridget MONAHAN; two sisters, Margaret DONNELLY and Daisy KELLER, and one
brother, John MONAHAN.  The funeral will be held from his late home 38A

Louise NICKLA, the fifteen year old daughter of Adam NICKLA, a pioneer
resident of the old Eighteenth Ward section of the Eastern District, died
yesterday at her home, 69 Irving avenue.  Of four brothers, who survive, in
addition to the parents, one, Adam NICKLA, is in service with the
Quartermaster's Department at Newport News.  The others are Frank, Joseph
and Michael, and there is also one sister, Mrs. Jacob HELMOLT.  The funeral
will be held Monday from the Church of St. Leonard and interment will be at
St. John's Cemetery.

Eva Cody O'BRIEN,who died yesterday at her home, 954 Jefferson avenue, was
born in Brooklyn fifty-seven years ago and was a member of the Church of Our
Lady of Good Council and the church Societies.  She is survived by her
husband, John J., and a son, William Leo.  The funeral will be held on

John Francis O'HARA, a detective sergeant in the Bureau of Identification of

John TREANOR, who died on Wednesday at his home, 317 State street, was born
in Brooklyn fifty-three years ago.  He was a lithographer and was a member
of Lithographers' Union, No. 1, F. A.  He was the son of the late James and
Mary TREANOR and is survived by his wife, Minnie; a son, James; two
daughters, May and Florence; two brothers, William and Charles, and two
sisters, Mrs. Ira CORNWALL and Mrs. John McDEVITT.  The funeral will be held
tomorrow at 2 p.m., under direction of Peter Doran, 210 Hoyt street.

Morris KENNELLY, born in Ireland seventy-one years ago, died on Wednesday at
his home, 276 Lexington avenue.  He is survived by a daughter, Mary; a son,
James, and a sister, Mrs. Norah BERNON.  The funeral will be held tomorrow
at 9 a.m.; with requiem mass at St. Ambrose's R. C. Church, DeKalb and
Tompkins avenues.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under direction of P. J.
McCANN, of 973 DeKalb avenue.

May HANNAM, who died yesterday after a brief illness at her home, 190 Sands
street, was born in Brooklyn sixteen years ago, and had been a member of St.
Anne's R. C. Church all her life.  She was also a member of the Blessed
Virgin Sodality and is survived by her father, Benjamin, and three brothers,
John, James and Joseph.  The funeral will be held on Monday at 10 a.m.; with
a requiem mass at St. Anne's R. C. Church, Front and Gold streets.
Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under direction of William McCLEAN, of 
77 Hudson avenue.

Lieutenant Robert C. BRINKMAN, U. S. N. R., formerly a well know marine
engineer of the port of New York, died in the Philadelphia Naval Hospital of
pneumonia.  He was born in New York City thirty-four years ago and had been
a resident of Brooklyn for thirty-one years.  He was one of the best known
marine engineers in the port of New York, having been employed by the
American-Hawaiian line and by the U. S. Shipping Board before enlisting in
the navy three months ago.  Lieut. BRINKMAN was educated in the public
schools of East New York and was a member of the Brooklyn Lodge, B P. O. E.,
22, and Marine Engineers.  He is survived by three brothers, John, of East
New York; Fred, of Jersey City, and Frank, of San Francisco.  The Elks will
hold services this evening at 10 o'clock in SCHAEFFER's Funeral Parlors,
4014 Third avenue.  The funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m., with a
requiem mass at St. Michael's R. C. Church.  Interment at Holy Cross
Cemetery under direction of Jacob SCHAEFER, of 4014 Third avenue.

The Rev. William T. O'DRISCOLL, C. M., of St. Vincent's Seminary,
Germantown, Pa., died on Wednesday there of pneumonia.  He was ordained a
deacon by Cardinal GIBBONS last May and lived at 204 McDonough street,this borough.

Michael WOODS, born in County Louthe, Ireland, seventy-nine years ago and a
resident of Brooklyn for fifty years, died yesterday at his home, 65 Dikeman
street.  He was a member of the Visitation R. C. Church and the Holy Name
Society connected with that church.  He is survived by three sons, William,
Florence and Joseph; two brothers, Peter and Thomas, and a sister, Bridget.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 2:30 p.m., with interment at Holy
Cross Cemetery under direction of Mrs. Joseph REDMOND, of 90 King street.

Margaret HEALY, widow of Richard HEALY, died yesterday at her home, 128
Second street.  She was born in Ireland seventy-eight years ago, and had
been a resident of Brooklyn for fifty years, and was a member of the Church
of St. Mary Star of the Sea.  She is survived by a son, John; and a brother;
John ENRIGHT.  The funeral will be held on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with
interment at Holy Cross Cemetery under direction of Peter DORAN, of 210 Hoyt street.

John H. CHRISTIANSEN, son of Henry and Sarah CHRISTIANSEN, and husband of
Mary FIELDS CHRISTIANSEN, died yesterday in his thirtieth year.  He was
employed by the Mergenthaler Linotype Company for ten years.  The funeral
will be held from his late home, 405 Eighth street, on Sunday at 2 p.m.,
with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.  He is survived by a widow, one son,
his parents and five sisters.  James E. COWLEY, of 310 Myrtle avenue has
charge of the funeral arrangements.

George HERRLINGER, for many years on the New York Telegram, died on
Wednesday at this home, 159 Tillary street, of heart trouble.  He was born
in Brooklyn and was a life member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church.  He is
survived by his wife, Margaret; a sister, Katherine, and a brother, John.
The funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m., at his late home,
with interment at Lutheran Cemetery, under direction of William McCLEAN, of
77 Hudson avenue.

John J. MAHONY died yesterday at his home, 615 Kosclusko street.  He was
born in New York City thirty years ago and had been a resident of Brooklyn
for twenty-five years.  He was a member of the Church of St. John the
Baptist.  He is survived by his mother, Julia; his father, Michael, and a
sister, May.  The funeral will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m., with interment
at Calvary Cemetery under direction of  Thomas H. Ireland, of 177 North Sixth street.

Harry ALLBRECHT, who died yesterday at his home, 283 Twenty-second street,
was born in Brooklyn and is survived by his widow, Henrietta; five children
and his parents.  The funeral will be held on Sunday at 10 a.m. from the
funeral chapel of George PETH, 1207 Myrtle avenue
Interment at Evergreen Cemetery.
