Brooklyn College of Pharmacy
Diplomas were awarded to ninety-six graduates at the nineteenth annual
commencement of the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy, held last night in the
Academy of Music.
Following the exercises at the Academy, the graduates proceeded to the
Imperial, where as newly-enrolled members, they took part in the annual
Banquet of the Alumni Association of the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy. The
officers of this association in which there has been a remarkable growth of
interest during the past few years, are :

William H. WEYGANDT, '01, President
Jeremiah H. HEALD, '04, First Vice-President
Thomas F. RAYMONW, '03, Second Vice-President
Joseph A. BURGUN, '08, Secretary
William C. ANDERSON, '92, Treasurer
M.E. GESELL, '04, Registrar

Among the graduates there shone conspicuously half a dozen blushing
and happy members of the fair sex. One of them especially scored by
"getting away" with the advanced degree of doctor of pharmacy.
She was Miss Elvira KALKBRENNER.

The invocation was by the Rev. Gurdon H. EGGLSTON, dean of the
College, conferred the degrees of graduate of pharmacy and doctor of
pharmacy. The latter honor fell to but three more besides Miss KALKBRENNER.
They were
Max A. LIPKIND,
Louis STEMPEL
Morris STEINBERG.
This degree signifies that the holder passed satisfactorily a
three-year course at the college, which is one year ore than
prescribed by the curriculum.

The valedictory address was by Emanuel M. SIEGLER.
