Hospital Commencement

   Modern physicians were accused of casting a gulf between the practice of
medicine and the cure of the human mind and soul, thereby causing the
existence of new and incompetent religions and sciences, among them
psychiatry, when the Rev. Dr. J. Stanley DURKEE, pastor of Plymouth Church,
delivered the baccalaureate sermon at the graduation exercises of the Medical
School and the Nurses School of Training of the Long Island Hospital in the
Academy of Music last night.
   Doctor’s diplomas were given to 103, of whom three were women. Forty-one
nurses were graduated.

Prizes Awarded
   There was a musical programme. Dancing followed the exercises.

   The four prizes for graduate nurses were awarded as follows:
The Guild prize for the greatest courtesy, tact and loyalty to
	Miss Mary Elizabeth Annie REID;
the MacNaughton prize, for the best work in gynecological nursing to
	Miss Aida Mae MOORE;
