They aren't currently accepting e-mail requests because
of the high volume they were receiving.

The first "rescue home" that The Salvation Army established for
pregnant women was opened in 1887, and it was in Brooklyn.
Unfortunately, I don't know what year it closed.

By 1928, there was :
Salvation Army Settlement and Day Nursery
227 Knickerbocker Avenue, Brooklyn

Salvation Army Children's Home at
394-400 Herkimer Street, Brooklyn

but there was no rescue home or maternity hospital in Brooklyn.

In Manhattan :
Salvation Army Home and Hospital on
15th Street.
It relocated to Flushing, Queens, in 1957 and was
renamed Booth Memorial Hospital.
